Quick answer: The trade press spent 2026 telling electricians to rebuild their websites around EV chargers and solar. We pulled our own Keyword Planner data for San Antonio and the numbers say something different. Solar panels in san antonio texas carries 260 monthly searches at a top of page bid of $2.80 to $24.24, and our EV charger and generator seeds barely produced local results at all. Meanwhile residential electricians san antonio carries 140 searches at up to $101.27, the most expensive term in our set. The new work is real and it is coming, but in this metro today it is cheap traffic, and the money is still in plain residential electrical. Build the emerging pages because they cost almost nothing to win. Do not let them displace what is paying. Comrade Digital Marketing brings the deepest resources, Funnel Boost Media is the strongest agency headquartered here, and Contractor Gorilla publishes a gallery of electrician sites you can evaluate before calling anyone.
Editorial disclosure. Get Local Presence publishes this list and appears in it at number three. We are not a neutral third party and we are not pretending to be one. Every other company named here is a real, independently operating business that markets website design to electrical contractors or home service trades, and none of them paid for placement or reviewed this page before publication. We placed ourselves where our model honestly competes rather than at the top, and where a competitor is a better fit than we are, we say so by name.
How we built this list, and what we deliberately ignored
Three filters produced the eight companies below.
The company had to show real trades work, not a home services page attached to a general agency.
The company had to be reachable for San Antonio work, as a local operation or a trades specialist taking Texas clients.
We checked the advice against our own data rather than repeating it, which is how the finding below emerged and why this page reads differently from the other electrician roundups you will find.
We ignored directory rankings agencies pay into and design awards, because an award winning electrician site built around services nobody in this metro is searching for yet is an expensive way to be beautiful.
One carry over finding worth repeating across this series. RYNO Strategic Solutions and Blue Corona have merged, and still appear as separate options on other roundups.
The advice is ahead of the demand, and we can show you by how much
Read any 2026 guide to electrician websites and you will find the same recommendation: lead with EV chargers, solar and generators. The examples cited are real. One frequently praised site puts commercial, residential, solar and EV chargers in the header with a dedicated EV charger link in the main navigation. Another is built almost entirely around EV charging. The recommended service row is residential, commercial, panel and rewiring, EV chargers and solar.
That advice is not wrong. It is early, and how early depends entirely on your market. Here is what it looks like in ours.
We pulled our own Keyword Planner data for this vertical, seeding it deliberately with EV charger installation, generator installation, whole house generator, panel upgrade and solar alongside the traditional terms. The set contains 253 unique keywords across national, Texas and San Antonio DMA geographies, with 584 rows carrying at least ten monthly searches.
Inside the San Antonio DMA, electrician san antonio and its variants carry roughly 1,300 monthly searches at a top of page bid of $9.73 to $60.07. Electrical companies in san antonio carries about 1,000 at only $3.30 to $16.63. Solar panels in san antonio texas carries 260 at $2.80 to $24.24, and solar companies san antonio carries 140 at $3.38 to $22.80. Our EV charger, generator and panel upgrade seeds produced very little at the metro level at all.
And the most expensive term in the entire set is residential electricians san antonio, at 140 monthly searches and bids reaching $101.27.
Put those side by side. Solar in this metro is roughly a twenty four dollar click. Residential electrical is a hundred dollar click. Advertisers who compete here every day are paying four times more to reach someone looking for a residential electrician than someone looking for solar, which tells you where the paying work currently is.
The practical conclusion is not to ignore the new services. It is the opposite, and it is more interesting. Because those terms are cheap and uncontested in this metro right now, the pages cost almost nothing to win, and whoever builds them holds the position when the demand arrives. That is a genuinely good reason to publish them. It is a bad reason to restructure your entire homepage around them while the residential work paying a hundred dollars a click gets pushed below the fold.
Build both. Sequence them correctly. And be skeptical of any vendor who recommends the national playbook without having looked at your metro, because this is exactly the kind of thing a pull of your own data settles in an afternoon.
The other number worth understanding
Two things in that data deserve a second look, because both change how the site should be built.
Electrical is a smaller search market here than the other trades. Electrician san antonio carries about 1,300 monthly searches. In the companion lists in this series we measured plumber san antonio at 4,400 and the ac repair cluster at 2,400 in the same metro. An electrical contractor is competing for roughly a third of the plumbing demand, which means each visitor is worth more and the site has less room to waste anyone. It also means the map pack and the site have to work harder per impression than a plumber's does, and that a poorly converting site costs proportionally more here.
Two phrasings of the same intent are priced four times apart. Electrician san antonio tops out at $60.07 while electrical companies in san antonio tops out at $16.63, despite similar volume. That gap usually means different intent behind similar words: someone typing electrician is looking to hire one, and someone typing electrical companies is often researching, comparing or looking for something else entirely, including utility providers. It is worth building for the first phrasing and not assuming the second is the same audience because the words look alike.
What actually belongs on an electrician's site
Texas licenses this trade through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, with tiered electrician licenses plus a separate electrical contractor license, insurance minimums tied to licensure, and company registration. That is a credential a homeowner can verify in about a minute, and it puts electricians in the same position as plumbers and the opposite of roofers, who have no state license at all.
Put the license number in text on the site, in the footer, and near the phone number. It costs nothing and most electrical sites in this market skip it.
Beyond that, three things that separate a working electrician site from a brochure.
Separate the emergency from the planned. A tripped panel that will not reset at nine at night is a different visitor from someone pricing a rewire. The first needs a tappable number and after hours availability in text. The second needs scope, timeline and cost. One homepage serving both serves neither well, which is the same structural problem we documented for plumbing.
Answer the panel question. Almost every emerging job runs through it. Can my panel handle an EV charger, a hot tub, an addition, solar. That is the question a homeowner actually types before any of the new work happens, and a page that answers it honestly, including when the answer is that a panel upgrade is required first, is both the most useful page you can publish and the one that captures the upgrade job.
Explain the incentives. EV charger and solar work in this market involves utility programs and federal tax credits that most homeowners do not understand and most electrician sites never mention. The contractor who explains what is available, what it is worth and what it requires is doing the work the customer actually needs done before they can say yes.
1. Comrade Digital Marketing
Comrade Digital Marketing operates from 332 S Michigan Avenue, Suite 900 in Chicago, founded in 2008 and led by co-founder and CEO Ivan Vislavskiy, with additional locations including Austin, Miami, Los Angeles and New York, serving home services contractors including electricians, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping and construction.
What it is genuinely good at. Longevity and breadth with verifiable credentials, which is rarer than it should be. It states 218 or more clients with a 4.8 rating and Inc. 5000 recognition, and its service range covers SEO, paid search, web design, local SEO, content and social alongside AI search optimization, meaning a contractor can add the emerging visibility work later without changing vendors. The Austin office matters for a San Antonio electrician: a Texas presence means the seasonal patterns, the utility landscape and the market are not new information, and someone can plausibly reach you.
Where to look closely. Multi industry rather than trades exclusive, so ask how many electrical contractors are currently active and ask to see two of those sites. Team size and pricing are not published, and no clients are named, so ask for references. Ask specifically whether they will pull your metro's keyword data before recommending a structure, since that is the question this page exists to raise.
Best fit. An electrical contractor who wants an established agency with verifiable credentials and a Texas office.
2. Funnel Boost Media
Funnel Boost Media is the most credentialed agency headquartered in San Antonio, founded in 2012 by Ryan Duncan, veteran owned, with home services among its core verticals.
What it is genuinely good at. Demonstrated rather than claimed capability. Its own domain carries a domain authority of 34 with more than 2,600 referring domains and it ranks organically for the competitive terms it sells, which is the most honest credential an agency can offer. Forbes named it to a list of America's best digital marketing companies. It also maintains dedicated San Antonio pages for answer engine and generative engine optimization, so an electrical contractor who wants the site, local search and AI visibility from one local vendor can get all three, which no other company on this list offers from a San Antonio office.
Where to look closely. Electrical is one trade inside home services, one vertical among several. Ask how many electrical clients they currently run and ask to see two sites. Given the data above, ask directly what they would do about solar and EV charger pages versus residential pages, and listen for whether the answer reflects this metro or a national template. Pricing is not published.
Best fit. An electrical contractor that wants the strongest local track record and everything under one local roof.
3. Get Local Presence
We build the site and then keep operating it as one ongoing monthly plan, rather than selling a project that ends at launch.
What we are genuinely built for. The sequencing problem above is a maintenance problem rather than a design decision. The right answer today is residential first with the emerging pages published cheaply alongside. The right answer in eighteen months may be different, because EV and solar demand in this metro is going to move, and the site should move with it rather than being rebuilt when someone notices. Incentive programs change annually. Panel and code requirements change. A project based build captures the correct structure once and then ages, and nobody notices until the traffic mix has shifted underneath it. We operate the site, so pages get added and reweighted as the data moves. Plans run from $499 to $999 monthly, no contract, and a rebuild is included rather than quoted separately.
Where we are honestly weaker. We are not trades exclusive the way Contractor Gorilla and Built Right Digital are, and we do not have the institutional scale of Comrade or WebFX. We also do not do electrical work, so on the technical content, particularly the panel capacity question, we need your master electrician to check what we write. We would rather say that now than have you find it in month two.
Best fit. An electrical contractor who wants the site actively maintained as the work mix shifts, at a predictable monthly cost.
4. Contractor Gorilla
Contractor Gorilla provides website design, logo design and marketing exclusively for construction trades including electricians, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, general contractors, remodeling, home builders and commercial, led by CEO Aaron R., who states twenty years launching and managing web design and marketing companies.
What it is genuinely good at. Trade exclusivity plus unusually transparent evaluation. It publishes an extensive gallery of electrician website designs specifically, which means you can review a large body of its reference work and decide whether the structure and aesthetic fit before you ever make contact. For a decision where the central question is how the site is organized rather than how it looks, being able to inspect seventeen examples yourself is worth more than a sales call.
Where to look closely. Headquarters, founding year and full leadership names are not published, and no clients or pricing are named, so ask for all of it plus three references. The media mentions are attributed to the CEO personally rather than to the company, which is a normal way to present a record but worth reading correctly. Ask how the template handles the emergency and planned split.
Best fit. An electrical contractor who wants trades exclusivity and a large body of reference work to evaluate before committing.
5. Built Right Digital
Built Right Digital builds websites and runs marketing for home service contractors including electricians, roofers, HVAC contractors, plumbers, home inspectors, pest control companies, bathroom remodelers and flooring businesses, offering Google Ads, SEO, Meta Ads and website design and management.
What it is genuinely good at. Focus on the trades combined with paid media capability in the same shop, which matters here more than usual. Given that solar and EV terms in this metro are currently cheap while residential is expensive, the right move is often a paid strategy that differs from the organic one, and a vendor running both can tell you where to spend rather than defaulting to the channel it manages. Website design and management being described together rather than as a one time build is also the correct model for a trade whose service mix is actively changing.
Where to look closely, and this is the main caution. Headquarters, founding year, founder, client count and pricing are all unpublished, and no clients are named, which is a lot of missing information for a vendor you would hand your website to. Ask for every one of those on the first call plus three electrical references you can contact, and treat reluctance as an answer.
Best fit. An electrical contractor who wants website and paid media from one trades focused vendor and is prepared to do the verification the published information does not do for you.
6. Texas Web Design
Texas Web Design serves San Antonio contractors and home service businesses including electricians, roofers, HVAC companies, plumbers, remodelers, painters and general contractors, with pages built for specific areas including Stone Oak, Boerne and Alamo Heights.
What it is genuinely good at. Neighborhood level geography, which for electrical work maps almost directly onto the job type. Housing stock determines the electrical work: older neighborhoods near downtown carry knob and tube remnants, aluminum wiring and undersized panels, mid century areas need panel upgrades, and newer construction in Stone Oak brings EV charger and smart home work. A site structured around those distinctions speaks accurately to each and reaches searches a single city page never will, which matters more in a smaller search market where every visitor counts.
Where to look closely. Electrical is one of seven named trades, so ask how many electrical clients specifically and ask to see them. Pricing is not published. Ask whether the neighborhood pages are genuinely differentiated content or one template with the name swapped, because only the first version works.
Best fit. An electrical contractor whose work concentrates in particular San Antonio submarkets or who wants to speak to older wiring and panel problems by area.
7. Hook Agency
Hook Agency operates from 600 N Washington Ave, Suite C203 in Minneapolis, specializing in contractor work with a verifiable published client roster, founder led.
What it is genuinely good at. A checkable contractor portfolio you can inspect before the first call, and a service mix including website design, SEO, Google Ads, Local Services Ads and Google Guaranteed, and Maps SEO. Local Services Ads deserve a mention for electricians because Texas licenses this trade through TDLR, which satisfies the license verification the Google Guaranteed screening requires, and LSAs bill per lead rather than per click. In a market where a residential electrician click can reach $101.27, paying per contact rather than per click is a comparison worth running.
Where to look closely. Its published emphasis is roofing and HVAC rather than electrical, so ask how many electrical clients are active and ask to see them. Minneapolis, so no site visits and a different market. Results claims are self reported without third party verification. Pricing is not published.
Best fit. An electrical contractor who wants a trades specialist able to compare per lead against per click honestly.
8. WebFX
WebFX was founded in 1995 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with more than a thousand specialists and a documented history of generating ten billion dollars in client revenue, with contractor work spanning electricians, plumbing companies, general contractors, remodelers and commercial construction firms.
What it is genuinely good at. Scale, longevity and reporting infrastructure that nothing else on this list approaches. Thirty years in business means the processes exist and an engagement does not collapse when one person leaves. For an electrical contractor running both residential and commercial divisions, or operating across several markets, that multi location capability is genuinely difficult to find elsewhere, and commercial electrical marketing is a different discipline that most trades shops do not handle.
Where to look closely. A thousand person agency assigns you an account team and you are a small client unless you are large. Ask who works on your account, how often that changes and what the minimum engagement is. Pricing is not published. Harrisburg, so no site visits.
Best fit. An electrical contractor with commercial work or multiple markets that needs institutional infrastructure.
What this actually costs
None of the companies on this list publish pricing, which is worth knowing before you start calling.
San Antonio generalist agencies commonly build a professional site in the $1,500 to $10,000 range depending on scope, then charge separately for ongoing local SEO starting around $1,500 monthly and rising past $3,000 with content and paid media included. Trades specialists typically work on monthly engagements bundling the site with search rather than selling a one time build, and sit above general small business web design because the trade knowledge is the product. Large national agencies price by engagement size.
Managed monthly providers replace the upfront build with an ongoing plan, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the site, local search and AI visibility in the same plan and a rebuild included.
The calculation for an electrical contractor is different from the other trades and worth doing carefully. Your search market is smaller, roughly a third of plumbing demand in this metro, and your most valuable term reaches $101.27 a click. That combination means conversion rate matters more to you than to a plumber, because you cannot make up a weak site with volume. Ten clicks on residential electricians at the top of the auction costs about a thousand dollars. A site that turns three of them into calls instead of one has changed the economics of every dollar you spend in that channel.
Questions to ask before you sign
These apply to every company on this page, us included.
Will you pull our metro's keyword data before recommending a structure? This is the question this page exists to raise. The national advice says build around EV chargers and solar. In San Antonio those terms currently run under twenty five dollars a click while residential electrical reaches a hundred. A vendor applying the national template without checking is guessing with your homepage.
How does the site handle a panel question? Almost every emerging job runs through it, and a page that honestly answers whether a panel can support an EV charger, a hot tub or solar is both the most useful thing you can publish and the thing that captures the upgrade work.
Will you display our TDLR license number, and where? Texas licenses this trade, unlike roofing, which hands you a verification advantage at no cost. Most electrical sites in this market waste it.
How does the site treat an emergency visitor differently from a planned one? A dead panel at nine at night and a rewire quote are different people. One homepage for both serves neither.
Who owns the domain, the hosting and the site files after launch? Get it in writing. This is the most common way contractors get trapped and it costs nothing to settle at the start.
What happens when the work mix shifts? EV and solar demand here will grow. Ask what it costs to add or reweight pages later, and whether that is included or billed as a new project.

Frequently asked questions
Should an electrician's website lead with EV chargers and solar?+
Publish the pages, do not lead with them, at least not in this metro today. Our own Keyword Planner pull for San Antonio found solar panels in san antonio texas at 260 monthly searches with a top of page bid of $2.80 to $24.24 and solar companies san antonio at 140 searches with bids to $22.80, while our EV charger and generator seeds produced very little at the metro level. The most expensive term in the whole set is residential electricians san antonio at up to $101.27. Advertisers are paying four times more for residential electrical than for solar here. Because the emerging terms are cheap and uncontested, the pages cost almost nothing to win and whoever builds them holds the position when demand arrives. That is a good reason to publish them and a bad reason to restructure your homepage around them.
Why is a residential electrician click more expensive than a solar click?+
Because the demand is here now and the buyer is ready. Advertisers competing daily in this metro have concluded that someone searching residential electricians san antonio is worth roughly four times someone searching for solar, and their bids reflect it at $101.27 against $24.24. That does not mean solar is a bad business, it means the search demand for it in San Antonio has not yet caught up to the national conversation. It also means a website built primarily to capture solar traffic in this market is optimized for the cheaper half of the opportunity.
How big is the electrical search market in San Antonio compared to other trades?+
Smaller, and it changes how the site should be built. Electrician san antonio carries roughly 1,300 monthly searches. In the companion lists in this series we measured plumber san antonio at 4,400 and the ac repair cluster at 2,400 in the same metro. An electrical contractor competes for about a third of the plumbing demand, which means conversion rate matters more to you than to a plumber because you cannot make up a weak site with volume. Ten clicks on your most valuable term at the top of the auction costs about a thousand dollars, so a site converting three of them instead of one changes the economics of every dollar you spend.
What is the single most useful page an electrician can publish?+
An honest answer to the panel capacity question. Almost every emerging job runs through it: can my panel handle an EV charger, a hot tub, an addition, solar. That is what a homeowner actually types before any of the new work happens. A page that answers it properly, including when the answer is that a panel upgrade is required first, is simultaneously the most genuinely useful thing you can publish, the most likely to be quoted by an AI assistant, and the one that captures the upgrade job that has to happen before the interesting work can start.
Should an electrician display their license number on the website?+
Yes. Texas licenses this trade through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation with tiered electrician licenses plus a separate electrical contractor license, insurance minimums tied to licensure and company registration. A homeowner can verify all of it in about a minute. Compare that with roofing, which Texas does not license at all, leaving roofers with no credential a stranger can check. Put the number in text near the phone number and in the footer. It costs nothing and most electrical sites in this market skip it.
How much does an electrician website cost in San Antonio?+
None of the companies on this list publish pricing. San Antonio generalist agencies commonly build a professional site in the $1,500 to $10,000 range depending on scope, then charge separately for ongoing local SEO starting around $1,500 monthly and rising past $3,000 with content and paid media. Trades specialists typically work on monthly engagements bundling the site with search and sit above general small business web design. Managed monthly providers replace the upfront build with a plan, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the site, local search and AI visibility together and a rebuild included.
Do electrical rebates and incentives belong on the website?+
Yes, and almost nobody does it. EV charger and solar work in this market involves utility programs and federal tax credits that most homeowners do not understand, and the confusion is frequently what stops a project rather than the price. A contractor who explains what is available, what it is worth and what qualifying requires is doing the work the customer has to complete before they can say yes. It is also content with a real shelf life problem, since these programs change, which is an argument for a site somebody maintains rather than one built once and left alone.
