Best local SEO companies for plumbers in San Antonio.

Getlo, the Get Local Presence mascot
GETLO'S
FIELD NOTE

Claiming a service area you cannot reach in an emergency is a ranking problem, not just a promise. Who does this work, what it costs, and what review targets are realistic.

Quick answer: The most expensive local SEO mistake a San Antonio plumber can make is claiming a service area they cannot actually reach in an emergency, and almost nobody frames it as an SEO mistake at all. Claim all of Bexar County, take the call from Converse at eleven at night, arrive ninety minutes later than the customer expected, and you earn a one star review from exactly the kind of job that matters most. Reviews then drive your map pack position, so the ranking claim produced the ranking damage. Plumbing and HVAC SEO has fifteen years inside this trade, Funnel Boost Media is the strongest agency headquartered here, and PipelineOn publishes the most honest timelines and benchmarks we found. Below is a criteria based breakdown of who does this work, what it costs, why plumbing is one of the few trades where review targets are actually achievable, and why the map pack statistic everyone quotes has now appeared at three different numbers in our research.

Editorial disclosure. Get Local Presence publishes this list and appears in it at number three. We are not a neutral third party and we are not pretending to be one. Every other company named here is a real, independently operating business marketing local SEO or local search services to plumbing contractors or home service trades, and none of them paid for placement or reviewed this page before publication. We placed ourselves where our model honestly competes rather than at the top, and where a competitor publishes something we do not, we say so by name.

How we built this list, and what we deliberately ignored

Three filters produced the eight entries below.

The company had to do local search rather than general SEO. Local search runs on the Google Business Profile, categories, proximity, reviews and citation consistency. For a trade where a majority of leads arrive through Maps, a proposal that is mostly keywords and backlinks is selling the wrong half.

The company had to work with plumbing or home service trades, because the emergency response pattern described below breaks the standard playbook in a specific and expensive way.

The company had to be reachable for San Antonio work.

We ignored directory rankings agencies pay into and any promise of a specific map pack position, since the pack is computed partly from where the searcher is standing and there is no one position to occupy.

One carry over finding worth repeating. RYNO Strategic Solutions and Blue Corona have merged, and still appear as separate options on other roundups. We list them as one entry.

The service area trap, and why it is a ranking problem

This is the argument that shapes the rest of the page, and it is the one no local SEO proposal will raise with you.

Every plumbing company sets a service area on its Google Business Profile, and the temptation is obvious: a wider area means eligibility for more searches, so most plumbers draw the biggest circle they can defend with a straight face. All of Bexar County. Sometimes the surrounding counties too.

In a planned trade that costs nothing. In emergency plumbing it starts a loop that ends in worse rankings than you had before.

Here is the loop. You claim a radius you cannot service quickly. A call comes from the far edge of it at eleven at night with water spreading. You take it, because turning down emergency work feels wrong and the job is worth real money. Your truck is forty five minutes away in the best case, and it is not the best case, because you are already on another call. The customer waits, damage accumulates, and the price at that hour lands on someone already unhappy. They leave a one star review describing exactly what happened, and it is accurate.

Now the part that connects to search. Review signals are among the heaviest inputs into local pack position, commonly estimated at around twenty percent of ranking weight, second only to the profile itself. Your review average and your recent review sentiment just got worse. Your ranking drops, including in the core area where you actually perform well.

The radius you claimed to rank in a distant zip code cost you position in the neighborhoods where you make your money.

The correct approach is uncomfortable and it works: set the service area to what you can genuinely reach inside your promised response window, then expand it deliberately when a second truck or a second location makes that honest. It is also worth stating your response window in text on the site, because a customer told upfront that you are ninety minutes out can decide for themselves, and a customer who decides for themselves does not leave a one star review about the wait.

Ask any vendor on this list what service area they would set for you and why. If the answer is as wide as possible, they are optimizing a metric rather than a business.

Why plumbing is one of the few trades where review targets are realistic

In the companion list on general contractors we made the opposite point: telling a remodeler who completes fifteen projects a year to gather fifteen to twenty reviews a month is arithmetically impossible, and a vendor who sets that target has not thought about the business.

Plumbing is where those targets finally make sense, and the published benchmarks are specific enough to hold a vendor to.

The commonly cited competitive threshold is forty to eighty Google reviews at a 4.5 star average or better in a typical market, with an ongoing pace of roughly four to five new reviews per month. For a plumbing company running dozens of jobs a week those numbers are achievable with a functioning request process rather than heroic effort.

Two cautions before you treat that as a target. First, quality genuinely beats volume here in a way that is not just a slogan: ten real reviews from real customers outperform fifty risky ones, and purchased or incentivized reviews are both against platform rules and detectable. Second, emergency work generates more negative reviews per job than any other trade, for reasons that are structural rather than a reflection of your work. The customer was already in a bad situation before you arrived, the after hours price is higher than a daytime price, and the damage happened before you got there. A plumbing profile will accumulate angry reviews that a remodeling profile never sees.

That makes the response process a bigger part of the job than the request process. Ask any vendor who writes the replies, how fast, and what the rule is for a review about price. A defensive reply to an angry emergency customer is read by every future customer evaluating whether you are reasonable to deal with at two in the morning.

The demand, and one statistic that has now failed three times

We pulled our own Keyword Planner data for this vertical. The set contains 461 unique keywords across national, Texas and San Antonio DMA geographies, with 1,260 rows carrying at least ten monthly searches.

Inside the San Antonio DMA, plumber san antonio carries roughly 4,400 monthly searches at a top of page bid of $38.69 to $106.77. That is the largest single term volume we have measured in any trade across this series. Plumbers in san antonio tx carries 1,900 at $28.00 to $106.11. Emergency plumber san antonio carries 480 at $60.11 to $132.55, and note that floor: the cheapest click on that term is sixty dollars.

Three map pack slots against 4,400 monthly searches on one term. That ratio is the argument for doing this work, and it is stronger in plumbing than in any other trade we have covered.

Now the caution, and it is one we have built across this series rather than asserted once.

You will be told that the local pack captures a specific share of clicks. Researching the roofing version of this list we found it published as nearly 50 percent. Researching HVAC we found 42 percent. Researching plumbing we found 44 percent. Three agency sources, the same year, the same metric, all presented as established fact, all disagreeing.

Google publishes neither click share nor ranking weights, so every number in this category is a practitioner estimate. The same applies to the ranking weight figures you will hear, commonly given as the profile at around 32 percent, reviews around 20 percent and on page signals around 15 percent. Those are useful as directions and they are consistent with what we observe. They are not measurements of your market.

The lead source figures are more credible because they come from agencies measuring their own client data: roughly 55 percent of plumbing leads arriving through Maps and the Google Business Profile, with another 28 percent from organic search. Even those are one agency's book of business rather than an industry census. Ask where any number came from. A vendor who names the source is thinking, and one who cannot is reading a slide.

1. Plumbing and HVAC SEO

Plumbing and HVAC SEO is based in Miami and works with plumbing and HVAC contractors exclusively, founded around 2011 by Josh Nelson and Dean Iodice, grown to a team of more than 35, with clients across the United States, Canada and Australia.

What it is genuinely good at. Fifteen years inside two trades is the deepest specialization on this list. For local search specifically that matters because the service area question, the emergency review pattern and the after hours pricing complaint are problems this firm has seen hundreds of times, and a generalist will encounter them for the first time on your profile. The paired plumbing and HVAC focus also matches how many contractors in this market actually operate, and a vendor who understands the combined business will not set up two profiles that compete with each other.

Where to look closely. Pricing is not published. Miami rather than Texas. Client counts are described as hundreds without a verified figure, so ask for two references in a comparable metro. Ask directly what service area they would set for you and why, since that is the question this page exists to raise.

Best fit. A plumbing company, especially one also running HVAC, that wants the deepest trade specialization available.

2. Funnel Boost Media

Funnel Boost Media is the most credentialed agency headquartered in San Antonio, founded in 2012 by Ryan Duncan, veteran owned, with home services among its core verticals.

What it is genuinely good at. Demonstrated rather than claimed capability. Its own domain carries a domain authority of 34 with more than 2,600 referring domains and it ranks organically for the competitive terms it sells, which is the most honest credential an agency can offer. Forbes named it to a list of America's best digital marketing companies. Local presence matters more for the service area question than for most local SEO work, because someone who lives here knows what a drive from the northwest side to Converse actually takes at six in the evening, and that knowledge is the difference between an honest radius and a wishful one.

Where to look closely. Plumbing is one trade inside home services, one vertical among several. Ask how many plumbing profiles they currently manage, ask what their review response process is, and ask what they would set as your service area. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. A plumbing company that wants the strongest local track record and a vendor who knows this city's drive times.

3. Get Local Presence

We treat local search as one of three things inside a single monthly plan alongside the website and AI visibility, rather than as a standalone retainer.

What we are genuinely built for. Map pack visibility that lands on the wrong page produces nothing, and in plumbing the wrong page problem is structural rather than occasional. A profile ranking for emergency plumber has to land on an emergency page built to convert in seconds, while a profile ranking for water softener installation has to land on a page with pricing and financing built to be read. Keeping the profile, the service list, the service area pages and the site aligned is continuous work that stops happening when the profile sits with one vendor and the site with another. We operate the site, so they stay aligned. Plans run from $499 to $999 monthly, no contract, rebuild included.

Where we are honestly weaker. Two gaps worth naming. We do not integrate with ServiceTitan the way RYNOtrax does, so if you want reporting that follows a Maps call through to a completed job, that is a real capability we lack. And Plumbing and HVAC SEO has fifteen years inside this one trade while we do not. If either is your first requirement, choose accordingly.

Best fit. A plumbing company that wants the profile, the reviews and the site moving as one program at a predictable monthly cost.

4. PipelineOn

PipelineOn works across the trades including plumbing, HVAC, roofing and electrical, offering visitor identification and lead capture with CRM integrations into ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro and GoHighLevel, alongside extensive published educational material.

What it is genuinely good at. The most honest published expectations we found in this category, and honest expectations are worth more than optimistic ones. It states that Google Business Profile improvements show movement in two to four weeks while organic service page rankings take three to six months in moderate markets and six to twelve in big metros. It publishes the competitive review threshold as forty to eighty reviews at 4.5 stars or better with four to five new per month. And it cites an industry spend benchmark of $1,500 to $5,000 monthly for a single truck shop with a boutique agency. A vendor telling you the organic side may take a year in a metro like this one is not making the sale easier for itself.

Where to look closely. Headquarters, founding year, founder and team size are not published, and no clients or client counts are named, so ask for all of it plus two references. Its published lead source figures, 55 percent from Maps and 28 percent from organic, come from its own client data rather than an industry census, which is normal but worth understanding correctly. The core product emphasis is lead capture and CRM integration, so ask specifically what the local SEO engagement includes month to month.

Best fit. A plumbing company that wants realistic timelines stated up front and values CRM integration with the software it already runs.

5. RYNO Strategic Solutions and Blue Corona

These two merged. RYNO was founded in 2007 at 15600 N Black Canyon Highway, Suite C200 in Phoenix with 51 to 200 employees, Blue Corona opened in 2008 in Charlotte, and both work across plumbing, HVAC, electrical and roofing. Named clients include The Works Plumbing.

What it is genuinely good at. Closing the measurement loop, which in plumbing answers the question that actually matters. Maps calls are easy to count and hard to value, because an emergency drain call and a whole house repipe both register as one call. RYNOtrax2.0 integrates with ServiceTitan and more than thirty ad platforms, putting marketing data next to job data, which is how you learn whether your map pack visibility is producing revenue or producing volume. For a plumbing company at the point where those two have diverged, that capability is difficult to find elsewhere.

Where to look closely. Raise the merger first: which entity you contract with, whose team works the account, whether pricing or process changed. Neither publishes pricing and neither competes at the low end. Both outside Texas, so ask how they would set your service area. Proprietary platforms are a portability question.

Best fit. An established plumbing company already running ServiceTitan that wants jobs measured rather than calls counted.

6. BizIQ

BizIQ operates from 3627 E Indian School Road, Suite 103 in Phoenix, Arizona, states it has helped more than 26,000 small businesses across America, and covers home services including plumbing alongside several other categories.

What it is genuinely good at. Verifiable third party credentials, which are scarce in this category. It is a Google Partner, an Inc. 5000 company, BBB A plus accredited, and carries a 4.6 out of 5 rating across more than a thousand Google reviews. That last figure is worth pausing on, because an agency selling review strategy that has itself accumulated a thousand reviews is demonstrating the discipline rather than describing it. Its service range covers local SEO, Google Business Profile management, paid ads, website design, reputation management and its own CRM platform.

Where to look closely. Twenty six thousand businesses served implies a volume model with standardized processes rather than bespoke strategy, which is a reasonable trade at a lower price point but means you should ask what is actually customized for your service area and your market. Plumbing is one industry among many rather than a specialization. Founding year, founder and pricing are not published. Phoenix rather than Texas.

Best fit. A smaller plumbing company that wants verifiable credentials and a standardized program rather than a custom strategy.

7. LocalMighty

LocalMighty is a San Antonio local SEO agency with more than ten years of local search experience, publishing a dedicated guide to local SEO for plumbers and specializing in Google Business Profile optimization alongside GEO, AEO and AI search.

What it is genuinely good at. Local presence combined with a published plumbing specific point of view. Its focus on the map pack as the objective rather than rankings generally is the right target for a trade where a majority of leads arrive through Maps without the customer ever visiting a website. Treating Maps and AI visibility as one connected program is mechanically accurate, since both draw on the same profile completeness, review flow and citation consistency.

Where to look closely. It advertises measurable growth within 60 days or the next month free. For plumbing that window is actually more defensible than in the slower trades, since profile improvements commonly move in two to four weeks, but ask what metric it covers and who measures it. Ask what service area they would set. Pricing, team size and client count are not published.

Best fit. A San Antonio plumbing company that wants a local vendor focused specifically on map pack performance.

8. Hook Agency

Hook Agency operates from 600 N Washington Ave, Suite C203 in Minneapolis, specializing in contractor work across roofing, HVAC and plumbing, founder led, with a verifiable published client roster.

What it is genuinely good at. Running Local Services Ads and Google Guaranteed alongside Maps SEO, website design and paid search. That combination matters here more than in most trades because of the economics: a click on emergency plumber san antonio starts at $60.11, while Local Services Ads bill per lead rather than per click, and Texas licenses plumbing through TSBPE so you can satisfy the license verification the Google Guaranteed screening requires. An agency running both can tell you which channel is cheaper for your job mix rather than defaulting to the one it prefers.

Where to look closely. Minneapolis, where the plumbing emergency season is frozen pipes in January rather than the year round South Texas pattern, and where drive times and metro geography are nothing like Bexar County. Ask what service area they would set and why. Results claims are self reported. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. A plumbing contractor who wants the map pack and the Local Services Ads placement managed together.

What this actually costs

Plumbing local search has two published benchmarks, and they disagree with each other in a way worth noticing.

One source puts the median single truck plumbing shop at $2,000 to $2,500 monthly with a boutique agency. PipelineOn publishes a wider band of $1,500 to $5,000 monthly for the same profile of business. Both are agency published figures rather than survey data, and the gap between them is roughly the gap between a standardized program and a custom one.

None of the companies on this list publish their own pricing, which is worth knowing before you start calling. San Antonio generalist agencies commonly start local SEO retainers around $1,500 monthly and rise past $3,000 once content and paid media are included. Trade specialists typically sit above the generalists.

Managed monthly providers bundle local search with the website rather than pricing it separately, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the site, local search and AI visibility together and a rebuild included.

Local Services Ads sit outside all of it as a per lead media cost plus a management fee, and given a sixty dollar floor on emergency clicks, that comparison deserves a real conversation rather than a default.

Price any of it against your cost per acquired job. Three map pack slots against 4,400 monthly searches on one term is the strongest ratio in this series, and moving from position six to position two at those volumes pays for a retainer quickly, while moving from twelve to eight pays for nothing.

Questions to ask before you sign

These apply to every company on this page, us included.

What service area would you set for us, and why? This is the plumbing question. As wide as possible is the wrong answer and it is the common one. A good vendor asks about your truck count, your response window and where you actually are at six in the evening before drawing a boundary.

Who writes review responses, how fast, and what is the rule for a price complaint? Emergency work produces angry reviews structurally, not because of your work quality. Every future customer reads how you handled it.

What review target are you setting, and what pace? Forty to eighty reviews at 4.5 stars or better with four to five new per month is the published competitive benchmark for this trade, and unlike remodeling it is achievable. A vendor with no number has no plan.

Who owns the Google Business Profile? It must live on an account you control with the vendor added as a manager. The profile carries the reviews, and reviews are the ranking asset. Get this in writing before work starts.

When will we see movement, and in what? An honest answer separates the two: profile improvements commonly move in two to four weeks, while organic service page rankings take three to six months in moderate markets and six to twelve in a metro this size. A vendor quoting one timeline for both is quoting the flattering half.

Where did that statistic come from? We have now found the local pack click share published at three materially different numbers by three agencies in the same year. Ask for the source before any figure justifies a budget.

Frequently asked questions

How wide should a plumber set their Google service area?+

Only as wide as you can actually reach inside your promised response window, then expand deliberately when a second truck makes that honest. Over claiming is the most expensive local SEO mistake in this trade and it is rarely framed as one. Claim all of Bexar County, take an eleven at night call from the far edge, arrive far later than the customer expected with damage accumulating and after hours pricing landing on someone already unhappy, and you earn an accurate one star review. Since review signals are among the heaviest local pack inputs, commonly estimated around twenty percent of ranking weight, the radius you claimed to rank in a distant zip code costs you position in the neighborhoods where you actually make money.

How many Google reviews does a San Antonio plumber need?+

The published competitive benchmark is forty to eighty reviews at a 4.5 star average or better in a typical market, with an ongoing pace of roughly four to five new per month. Unlike remodeling, where a contractor completing fifteen projects a year cannot hit volume targets, plumbing runs enough jobs weekly to make those numbers achievable with a functioning request process. Two cautions: quality genuinely beats volume, since ten real reviews outperform fifty risky ones and purchased reviews are both against platform rules and detectable. And emergency work generates more angry reviews per job than any other trade for structural reasons, so the response process matters as much as the request process.

Is the map pack really worth this much for plumbers?+

The ratio is the strongest we have measured in this series. Plumber san antonio carries roughly 4,400 monthly searches in the San Antonio DMA at a top of page bid of $38.69 to $106.77, and three profiles appear in the pack against it. Agencies commonly report that a majority of plumbing leads arrive through Maps, with one publishing 55 percent from Maps and another 28 percent from organic search, though those come from individual agency client data rather than an industry census. Treat the specific percentages as directions. The volume and the three slot constraint are not in dispute.

Why do agencies quote different numbers for map pack click share?+

Because none of them are measuring the same thing and Google publishes nothing. Across this series we found the local pack click share published as nearly 50 percent while researching roofing, 42 percent while researching HVAC, and 44 percent while researching plumbing. Three agency sources, the same year, the same metric, all presented as established fact, all disagreeing. The same applies to ranking weight figures commonly given as the profile around 32 percent, reviews around 20 percent and on page signals around 15 percent. They are practitioner estimates, useful as directions and consistent with what we observe, but they are not measurements of your market. Ask any vendor quoting one where it came from.

How long before local SEO works for a plumbing company?+

It depends which half you mean, and an honest vendor separates them. Google Business Profile improvements commonly show movement in two to four weeks, which is fast because the profile is a direct input you control. Organic service page rankings take three to six months in moderate markets and six to twelve months in a large metro, and San Antonio is a large metro. A vendor quoting a single timeline is quoting the flattering half. This is also why sixty day guarantees are more defensible in plumbing than in slower trades: the profile can genuinely move in that window even though the organic side cannot.

How much does plumbing local SEO cost in San Antonio?+

Two published benchmarks exist and they disagree, which is worth knowing. One source puts a median single truck shop at $2,000 to $2,500 monthly with a boutique agency, while PipelineOn publishes $1,500 to $5,000 monthly for the same profile of business, roughly the gap between a standardized program and a custom one. None of the companies on this list publish their own pricing. San Antonio generalists commonly start around $1,500 monthly and rise past $3,000 with content and paid media. Managed monthly providers bundle local search with the website, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with a rebuild included.

How should a plumber respond to an angry emergency review?+

Calmly, quickly and without arguing the facts in public, because the reply is written for every future customer rather than for the reviewer. Emergency work produces these structurally: the customer was already in a bad situation before you arrived, the after hours price is higher than a daytime price, and the damage happened before the call. A reply that acknowledges the frustration, states the after hours policy plainly and offers to continue the conversation privately reads as reasonable. A defensive reply that relitigates the timeline reads as someone difficult to deal with at two in the morning, which is exactly the moment your next customer is deciding. Ask any vendor who writes these and how fast.

Your website may be losing calls you never knew existed.

We will review the message, structure, search visibility and lead path, then show you the three fixes most likely to matter.
