Best local SEO companies for landscapers in San Antonio.

Getlo, the Get Local Presence mascot
GETLO'S
FIELD NOTE

Landscaping is the one trade that wants the densest service area, not the widest. Who does this work, what it costs, and why route density is an SEO decision.

Quick answer: Every other trade in this series wants the widest service area it can honestly defend. Landscaping wants the densest one. Your margin lives in how tightly your stops cluster, and a crew driving twenty minutes between mows is losing money on both. That makes local SEO a routing decision rather than a coverage decision, and it means ranking strongly across three adjacent zip codes beats ranking mediocre across Bexar County. Proximity is also unusually powerful here: one agency reports lawn care businesses moving from page three to the top of the map pack by relocating a registered address three miles closer to the neighborhood they wanted. Thrive is headquartered in Arlington with 200 specialists, Funnel Boost Media is the strongest agency in San Antonio, and Map Kings offers something no one else on this list does, one landscaping client per city. Below is a criteria based breakdown of who does this work and what it costs.

Editorial disclosure. Get Local Presence publishes this list and appears in it at number three. We are not a neutral third party and we are not pretending to be one. Every other company named here is a real, independently operating business marketing local SEO to landscaping and lawn care companies, and none of them paid for placement or reviewed this page before publication. Two things we checked and are reporting rather than omitting: one company on this list has a lawn care name but states it serves more than ninety niches, and another labels its GEO service differently from how the rest of the industry uses that term. Both are in their sections.

How we built this list, and what we deliberately ignored

Three filters produced the eight entries below.

The company had to do local search rather than general SEO. For landscaping that means the Google Business Profile, service areas, categories and reviews, because more than 70 percent of clicks on landscaping company near me go to the top three Maps results.

The company had to work with landscaping or home service trades.

The company had to be reachable for San Antonio work.

We ignored any promise of a specific map pack position. We also read past company names to what each firm actually says about itself, which changed how we describe two of them.

Density, not coverage

This is the argument that separates landscaping from every trade we have covered, and no local SEO proposal we found raises it.

In roofing, plumbing, HVAC and electrical, a wider service area is straightforwardly better as long as you can honestly serve it. More territory means more eligible searches, and a job forty minutes away is still a profitable job because the ticket is large enough to absorb the drive.

Landscaping does not work that way. A maintenance visit is small, fast and repeated weekly or biweekly. The economics live entirely in stop density: how many properties a crew can service between fuel stops and how little of the day is spent driving. A crew doing eight tightly clustered properties and a crew doing five scattered across the metro can bill similar hours and earn completely different margins.

Which means a landscaping company does not want to rank across San Antonio. It wants to own the neighborhoods it can route efficiently, and then own the ones adjacent to those.

Three consequences follow, and all three change what you should ask a vendor for.

Winning scattered customers is a bad outcome that looks like a good one. A campaign that produces twenty new customers spread across Bexar County has generated revenue and destroyed route efficiency. Twenty customers inside two zip codes is a fundamentally better result at the same revenue, and no standard local SEO report distinguishes them.

Proximity is a lever you may actually be able to pull. Lawn Marketing Edge reports lawn care businesses moving from page three to the top of the map pack after relocating a registered address three miles closer to their target neighborhood. Treat that specific case with appropriate caution, since it is a vendor's own account, but the underlying mechanism is real and heavily documented: proximity to the searcher is among the strongest map pack factors. For a business whose profitability depends on geography anyway, that means your registered location and your routing plan should be one decision rather than two.

Service area pages are worth more here than in trades. Building a genuinely differentiated page for each neighborhood you want to own is described across this category as one of the most underused and effective tactics, and for landscaping it does double duty: it reaches searches a single city page never will, and it concentrates your inbound demand where you can actually serve it profitably.

Ask any vendor on this list a question none of them will expect: how will you help us win customers who are close to each other rather than customers generally.

The review benchmark here is harder than in any trade

Across this series we have documented review benchmarks by vertical, and landscaping has the most demanding one we have found.

In the general contractor list we showed that a remodeler completing fifteen projects a year cannot reach volume targets at all. In plumbing the published competitive benchmark was forty to eighty reviews at 4.5 stars or better with four to five new per month. For landscaping the benchmark published in this category is ten to fifteen new reviews per month at no less than 4.5 stars to be taken seriously, with landscaping described as one of the most competitive local service industries in 2026.

That is two to three times the plumbing pace. It is achievable, because a landscaping company touches far more properties per week than a plumber does, and it requires a request process that actually fires on every completed visit rather than depending on someone remembering.

There is also a seasonal problem specific to this trade that no vendor we found addresses. Landscaping review flow is not level across the year. It concentrates in spring when people hire and in fall around cleanups, and it thins in deep summer and winter. Since recency is weighted alongside volume, a landscaping profile naturally looks stale for months at a time. The counter is deliberately spreading requests across the calendar rather than harvesting them when work peaks, and asking for reviews after routine visits rather than only after projects.

Ask any vendor what your review pace is by month rather than by year. The annual number hides the problem.

What the numbers say this is worth

We pulled our own Keyword Planner data for this vertical. The set contains 383 unique keywords across national, Texas and San Antonio DMA geographies, with 1,003 rows carrying at least ten monthly searches.

Inside the San Antonio DMA, landscaping san antonio carries roughly 1,900 monthly searches at a top of page bid of $5.00 to $21.87, and yard service san antonio carries 1,300 at $6.06 to $22.72. Against that, three map pack slots.

Map Kings publishes an average annual value of one new landscaping client at more than $15,000, which is a vendor figure rather than an industry statistic and should be read that way. It is still the right frame, and it aligns with the argument we made in the companion website design list: a landscaping customer is only worth that much if they are a recurring contract rather than a single job. A one time mow is worth sixty dollars. A maintenance agreement held for three years is worth what that vendor is describing.

That is what makes the density argument financial rather than operational. If a new customer is genuinely worth four figures a year, then twenty of them in two zip codes is a business, and twenty of them scattered across the metro is a scheduling problem you will spend years unwinding.

A fourth number for the same thing

We have tracked one statistic across this entire series, and this page produces the fourth distinct value for it.

Lawn Marketing Edge cites research it attributes to the Marketing Center of Excellence putting Google Business Profile optimization at 27 percent of ranking factors, down three points from 2023. In the plumbing list we found the profile published at around 32 percent. In the electrical list we found 36 percent. In the HVAC list we found a claim that the profile and reviews together account for 52 percent.

Twenty seven, thirty two, thirty six. Same metric, same year, three sources, three answers.

We corrected ourselves once on this already and the correction still holds. The roughly 32 percent figure comes from the Whitespark Local Search Ranking Factors survey, which publishes its methodology and surveys practitioners annually, and that is a real answer rather than a number on a slide. The others may also trace to sound work, and neither we nor you can tell without a citation.

The practical instruction has not changed all series and it does not change here. Ask where the number came from. If a vendor names a study you can look up, that is worth something. If a vendor cannot, the figure is decoration.

1. Thrive Internet Marketing Agency

Thrive Internet Marketing Agency was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Arlington, Texas, with more than 200 in house specialists, and is among the most recognized names in SEO for home service and landscaping companies.

What it is genuinely good at. Scale and continuity with a Texas headquarters, which is a rarer combination than it should be. Twenty years in business and 200 in house specialists means process maturity, and in house rather than contracted matters for consistency of work. Being in Arlington means the seasonality that governs this trade in Texas, the summer that kills turf, the water restrictions, the two shoulder seasons when contracts get signed, is not something you have to explain. It has also been moving deliberately into AI search optimization alongside traditional search work rather than rebranding an existing retainer.

Where to look closely. Landscaping is one of many industries served, so ask how many landscaping clients are currently active and ask to see two profiles. Large agencies assign account teams, so ask who specifically works your account and how often that rotates. Pricing is not published. And ask the density question above, because a 200 person agency runs playbooks and the standard playbook optimizes for coverage.

Best fit. An established landscaping company that wants agency scale and process reliability from a firm headquartered in its own state.

2. Funnel Boost Media

Funnel Boost Media is the most credentialed agency headquartered in San Antonio, founded in 2012 by Ryan Duncan, veteran owned, with home services among its core verticals.

What it is genuinely good at. Demonstrated rather than claimed capability. Its own domain carries a domain authority of 34 with more than 2,600 referring domains and it ranks organically for the competitive terms it sells, which is the most honest credential an agency can offer. Forbes named it to a list of America's best digital marketing companies. For the density argument specifically, local knowledge is not decorative: a vendor who lives here knows which neighborhoods sit adjacent, where the drive times actually break, and which parts of this metro have the lot sizes and household profiles that support maintenance contracts.

Where to look closely. Landscaping is one trade inside home services, one vertical among several. Ask how many landscaping profiles they currently manage. Ask what they would build for service area pages and whether those are genuinely differentiated by neighborhood. Ask about the seasonal review problem. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. A landscaping company that wants the strongest local track record and a vendor who understands this metro's geography.

3. Get Local Presence

We treat local search as one of three things inside a single monthly plan alongside the website and AI visibility, rather than as a standalone retainer.

What we are genuinely built for. Service area pages are the mechanism behind the density argument, and they are a publishing problem rather than a one time build. Each neighborhood you want to own needs a page that is genuinely about that neighborhood rather than a template with the name swapped, and the set has to grow as your routes grow and change as your capacity fills. A project based build produces four of them once and then nothing. We operate the site, so the set expands with the business, and the maintenance plan pricing and seasonal messaging stay current alongside it. Plans run from $499 to $999 monthly, no contract, rebuild included.

Where we are honestly weaker. We do not offer territorial exclusivity, and Map Kings does. If you are in a market where a competitor hiring the same agency genuinely worries you, that is a real commercial term we cannot match. We also do not have Thrive's 200 person bench, so on pure capacity we are a smaller operation and you should weigh that if you need many service area pages built quickly.

Best fit. A landscaping company that wants the site, the service area pages and the profile maintained as one growing program.

4. Map Kings

Map Kings operates from 2500 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, Florida, offering local website SEO, answer engine optimization, Google Business Profile optimization, Local Services Ads management and what it labels GEO, serving multiple industries including landscaping.

What it is genuinely good at. One commercial term nothing else on this list offers: city exclusivity, meaning one landscaping client per city. In a category this competitive that is genuinely valuable, because the alternative is your agency optimizing your competitor's profile with the same playbook in the same map pack. It also runs Local Services Ads alongside organic, and it publishes benchmarks rather than only claims: 90 percent of landscaping searches carrying local intent, more than 70 percent of hire decisions happening in the map pack, 60 to 90 days to real ranking movement, and an average annual client value above $15,000.

Where to look closely, and there are two specific things. It labels one service Google Earth Optimization while the rest of the industry uses GEO to mean generative engine optimization, meaning visibility inside AI assistants. Those are not the same product. If AI visibility is part of what you are buying, get in writing which one you are getting. Second, its testimonials give first names and cities only, with no company names, so ask for two references you can actually call. Founding year, founder and pricing are not published, and its published benchmarks are its own figures rather than independent research.

Best fit. A landscaping company that wants territorial exclusivity and will clarify exactly what the GEO line item includes.

5. LocalMighty

LocalMighty is a San Antonio local SEO agency with more than ten years of local search experience, publishing a dedicated local SEO guide for landscapers and specializing in Google Business Profile optimization alongside GEO, AEO and AI search.

What it is genuinely good at. Local presence with a published landscaping specific point of view, and a focus on the map pack as the objective rather than rankings generally, which is correct for a trade where more than 70 percent of near me clicks resolve in the top three Maps results. Treating Maps and AI visibility as one connected program is mechanically accurate since both draw on profile completeness, reviews and citation consistency.

Where to look closely. It advertises measurable growth within 60 days or the next month free, which is roughly the window this category's own published benchmark gives for real ranking movement, so it is more defensible here than in slower trades. Ask what metric it covers. Ask about the density question and about seasonal review pacing. Pricing, team size and client count are not published.

Best fit. A San Antonio landscaping company that wants a local vendor focused specifically on map pack performance.

6. Lawn Marketing Edge

Lawn Marketing Edge provides landscaping website design, lawn and landscaping SEO, pay per click advertising and homepage upgrades, with published guidance focused on Google Maps ranking for lawn care companies.

What it is genuinely good at. Its published material on proximity is the most useful thing we found in this category and it is the basis of the density argument on this page: the account of lawn care businesses moving from page three to the top of the map pack after relocating a registered address three miles closer to a target neighborhood. It also documents that address verification has become substantially stricter, describing requirements for unbroken video footage of the address, mail receipt, branded vehicles or equipment and interior footage, which is genuinely useful for anyone considering a location change and is not something most vendors mention.

Where to look closely, and the first item matters. Despite the name, the company states it serves more than ninety niches, so this is not a lawn care exclusive firm and you should ask directly how many landscaping clients are active. Headquarters, founding year and founder are not published, with only an author name given. Its Nashville case study is anonymous, claiming top three positions for 17 keyword combinations in 60 days and an 83 percent lead increase, which cannot be verified. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. A landscaping company that values the proximity and verification expertise and is prepared to ask what the lawn care specialization actually amounts to.

7. Comrade Digital Marketing

Comrade Digital Marketing operates from 332 S Michigan Avenue, Suite 900 in Chicago, founded in 2008 and led by co-founder and CEO Ivan Vislavskiy, with additional locations including Austin, and naming landscaping explicitly among the home services contractors it serves.

What it is genuinely good at. Verifiable credentials, which remain scarce in this category: 218 or more clients with a 4.8 rating and Inc. 5000 recognition. Its service range spans local SEO, SEO, paid search, web design, content and social alongside AI search optimization, which matters for a seasonal business because the right channel mix shifts across the year and a single vendor covering all of them can move budget rather than defend a line item. The Austin office means a Texas presence and a plausible in person relationship.

Where to look closely. Multi industry rather than trades exclusive, so ask how many landscaping clients are active and ask to see two. Team size and pricing are not published and no clients are named, so ask for references. Ask specifically what they would do about service area pages, since that is the tactic that does the most for this trade.

Best fit. A landscaping company that wants one agency across channels with credentials it can verify and a Texas office.

8. CyberOptik

CyberOptik is a web design and digital marketing agency founded by Ron Johnson, who serves as founder and marketing director with more than twenty years of experience, working across many sectors including landscaping, offering website design, WordPress services, technical, local and AI focused SEO, paid search and content.

What it is genuinely good at. Technical foundations, which for the service area page strategy is the part most vendors execute badly. Building fifteen genuinely differentiated neighborhood pages that are not thin duplicates is a real content and technical problem, and an agency whose center of gravity is WordPress development with schema markup is better positioned for it than a firm that only manages profiles. Its monthly plans without long term contracts are also unusual for a custom agency.

Where to look closely. Headquarters, founding year, team size and client counts are not published and no clients are named, so ask for all of it plus two landscaping references. Landscaping is one of many sectors rather than a specialization. Pricing is described as affordable without figures. And because it is a build oriented agency, ask explicitly who manages the Google Business Profile month to month, since that is where most of this category's value sits.

Best fit. A landscaping company that needs a real service area page build done properly and will pair it with profile management.

What this actually costs

None of the companies on this list publish pricing, which is worth knowing before you start calling and is unusual after the restaurant vertical where platform pricing forced published numbers.

San Antonio agencies commonly start local SEO retainers around $1,500 monthly and rise past $3,000 once content and paid media are included. National agencies with large benches price by engagement size and treat a single crew operation as a small account. Firms offering territorial exclusivity typically charge for it, since they are declining revenue from every other landscaping company in your city.

Managed monthly providers bundle local search with the website rather than pricing it separately, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the site, local search and AI visibility together and a rebuild included.

Price it against the density argument rather than against traffic. If a new maintenance customer is genuinely worth four figures annually, as the one published figure in this category suggests, then a retainer pays for itself on a handful of contracts. The thing to negotiate is not the price. It is whether the work is aimed at customers you can route profitably or at customers generally.

Questions to ask before you sign

These apply to every company on this page, us included.

How will you help us win customers close to each other rather than customers generally? This is the landscaping question and almost nobody expects it. Twenty new customers in two zip codes and twenty scattered across the metro produce the same revenue and completely different margins, and no standard report distinguishes them.

What neighborhoods should we target, and what does our registered address do to that? Proximity is among the strongest map pack factors, and this category's own published accounts describe address moves changing rankings substantially. Your location and your routing plan should be one decision.

How many service area pages, and how are they differentiated? This is the most underused effective tactic in the category and the most commonly done badly. A template with the neighborhood name swapped does not work.

What is our review pace by month, not by year? The competitive benchmark here is ten to fifteen new reviews monthly at 4.5 stars or better, and landscaping review flow naturally collapses in deep summer and winter. The annual number hides that.

Who owns the Google Business Profile? It must live on an account you control with the vendor added as a manager. Get it in writing before work starts.

If you sell GEO, which GEO? One company on this list uses that acronym to mean Google Earth Optimization while the industry uses it for generative engine optimization and AI visibility. Get the deliverable in writing rather than the acronym.

Frequently asked questions

Should a landscaping company target the widest possible service area?+

No, and this is where landscaping differs from every trade. In roofing, plumbing or HVAC a wider area is straightforwardly better, because the ticket is large enough to absorb a forty minute drive. A landscaping maintenance visit is small, fast and repeated weekly, so margin lives entirely in stop density. A crew doing eight tightly clustered properties and one doing five scattered across the metro can bill similar hours and earn completely different margins. That means a campaign producing twenty new customers spread across Bexar County has generated revenue and destroyed route efficiency, while twenty inside two zip codes at the same revenue is a fundamentally better business. No standard local SEO report distinguishes the two.

Can moving my business address really change map pack rankings?+

Proximity to the searcher is among the strongest map pack factors, and one agency in this category reports lawn care businesses moving from page three to the top of the pack after relocating a registered address three miles closer to their target neighborhood. Treat that specific account with caution since it is a vendor's own, but the mechanism is well documented. The same source notes that address verification has become substantially stricter, describing requirements for unbroken video footage of the address, mail receipt, branded vehicles or equipment and interior footage. So this is not a paperwork trick, it requires actually being where you say you are. For a business whose profitability already depends on geography, your location and your routing plan should be one decision.

How many reviews does a San Antonio landscaping company need?+

The published competitive benchmark for this category is ten to fifteen new reviews per month at no less than 4.5 stars, with landscaping described as one of the most competitive local service industries in 2026. That is two to three times the pace published for plumbing, which was four to five monthly, and it is achievable only because a landscaping company touches far more properties per week. There is also a seasonal trap no vendor we found addresses: review flow concentrates in spring and around fall cleanups and thins in deep summer and winter, so since recency is weighted alongside volume your profile naturally looks stale for months. Spread requests deliberately across the calendar rather than harvesting them at peak.

Are service area pages worth building?+

They are described across this category as one of the most underused and most effective tactics, and for landscaping they do double duty. They reach searches a single city page will never rank for, and they concentrate inbound demand in the neighborhoods you can actually route profitably, which is the density argument in practice. The failure mode is universal and easy to spot: a template with the neighborhood name swapped is a thin duplicate that helps nothing. Ask any vendor how many pages, how they are differentiated, and who writes them, and ask to see two existing examples from another client before you commit.

What is one new landscaping customer worth?+

One vendor in this category publishes an average annual value above $15,000 per new landscaping client. That is a vendor figure rather than independent research and should be read that way, but the frame is right and it depends entirely on one thing: whether the customer is a recurring maintenance contract or a single job. A one time mow is worth sixty dollars. A maintenance agreement held for several years is worth something in that range. That is what makes route density financial rather than merely operational, because if a customer is genuinely worth four figures a year, twenty of them in two zip codes is a business and twenty scattered across the metro is a scheduling problem you will spend years unwinding.

Why do agencies quote different numbers for Google Business Profile ranking weight?+

Because they are citing different research and most do not say which. Across this series we have now found the profile's share of local pack ranking published at 27 percent, at roughly 32 percent, and at 36 percent, plus a claim that the profile and reviews together account for 52 percent. Same metric, same year, different answers. We corrected ourselves once on this and the correction holds: the roughly 32 percent figure comes from the Whitespark Local Search Ranking Factors survey, which publishes its methodology and surveys practitioners annually, and that is a real answer rather than a slide. The instruction has not changed all series. Ask where the number came from, and if a vendor cannot name a study you can look up, treat the figure as decoration.

Is territorial exclusivity worth paying for?+

In a category this competitive it is worth considering, and one company on this list offers one landscaping client per city. The value is straightforward: the alternative is your agency running the same playbook for your competitor in the same map pack, which is common and rarely disclosed. Firms offering exclusivity generally charge for it, because they are declining revenue from every other landscaping company in your market, so expect it to cost more rather than less. Get the terms in writing, including how city is defined, what happens if they already have a client in an adjacent market, and what the arrangement is if you leave.
