Best local SEO companies for HVAC contractors in San Antonio.

Getlo, the Get Local Presence mascot
GETLO'S
FIELD NOTE

The placement above the map pack is not SEO, and HVAC qualifies for it because Texas licenses the trade. Who does this work, what it costs, and which statistics to distrust.

Quick answer: Most HVAC contractors hire a local SEO company to compete for the map pack and never find out that the thing sitting above the map pack is not SEO at all. Local Services Ads and the Google Guaranteed badge occupy the top of the mobile screen before anything else loads, they bill per lead rather than per click, and you qualify for them precisely because Texas licenses this trade through TDLR. A roofer cannot get the same license verification because Texas licenses no roofers. That is a structural advantage handed to HVAC contractors that most of them are not using. RYNO Strategic Solutions and Blue Corona, now merged, bring the deepest home services resources, Funnel Boost Media is the strongest agency headquartered here, and Building Blocks Digital is the one company on this list built specifically around Local Services Ads. Below is a criteria based breakdown of who does this work, what it costs, and why the ranking statistics everyone quotes should be read as estimates rather than facts.

Editorial disclosure. Get Local Presence publishes this list and appears in it at number three. We are not a neutral third party and we are not pretending to be one. Every other company named here is a real, independently operating business marketing local SEO or local search services to HVAC contractors or home service trades, and none of them paid for placement or reviewed this page before publication. We placed ourselves where our model honestly competes rather than at the top, and where a competitor covers something we do not, we say so by name.

How we built this list, and what we deliberately ignored

Three filters produced the eight entries below.

The company had to do local search rather than general SEO. Those are different disciplines. Organic SEO ranks a page. Local search competes for the map pack, which runs on the Google Business Profile, proximity, reviews, categories and citation consistency, and increasingly for the Local Services Ads placement above it, which is a different product entirely.

The company had to work with HVAC or home service trades, because this trade has a violently seasonal demand curve, an emergency conversion pattern, and a state license that unlocks a placement other trades cannot reach.

The company had to be reachable for San Antonio work.

We ignored directory rankings agencies pay into and any promise of a specific map pack position, because the map pack is computed partly from where the searcher is physically standing and there is no single position to occupy.

One carry over finding worth repeating because it affects how you compare proposals. RYNO Strategic Solutions and Blue Corona have merged. They still appear as separate options on other roundups, so a contractor who believes they are comparing two vendors may be comparing one company. We list them as one entry.

The placement above the map pack, and why HVAC qualifies for it

This is the part most HVAC contractors do not know, and it is worth more than any ranking tactic on this page.

Above the map pack, on mobile, Local Services Ads occupy a large share of the screen before anything else renders. Since the overwhelming majority of emergency HVAC searches happen on a phone, that placement is the first thing a homeowner in a hot house sees. It is not SEO, it cannot be earned by optimization, and no amount of local SEO work will place you there.

What puts you there is verification. Google screens the business, and for HVAC the requirements are specific: current state, county or city licenses verified as active, general liability coverage typically at a minimum of one million dollars, workers compensation if you have employees, and background checks on the business owner and on every field technician who appears in the ads. HVAC professionals undergo an additional level of screening beyond the baseline. Pass all of that and Google places a green checkmark on your listing reading Google Guaranteed, which tells a stranger that Google has confirmed you are a real, licensed, insured business.

Now connect that to the point we made in the companion list on HVAC website design. Texas licenses this trade through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license, with EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling. Texas licenses no roofers at all. That means an HVAC contractor can satisfy the license verification requirement that a roofing contractor in the same city structurally cannot.

The billing model matters too. Local Services Ads charge per lead, meaning someone has to actually contact you before a charge hits the account. Compare that with paid search in this market, where the top of the auction on ac repair terms reaches $129.91 per click, and a click is not a contact. For an HVAC contractor the honest comparison between those two channels is not obvious, and it varies by job mix, which is exactly why you want a vendor who runs both rather than one who manages only the channel it prefers.

Ask any company on this list whether Local Services Ads are in scope, who manages the verification and renewals, and how they measure lead quality inside it, because disputing a bad lead is part of the operational work and it does not happen by itself.

The ranking statistics, and how much weight to give them

Four numbers circulate constantly in this category, and you will hear at least two of them on any sales call.

That the map pack captures 42 percent of clicks for local searches. That 52 percent of map pack ranking comes from the Google Business Profile and reviews. That switching a primary category from contractor to HVAC contractor lifts map pack visibility by an average of 31 percent. And that review velocity beats volume, with a contractor earning 15 to 20 reviews a month outranking one with a higher rating collecting two or three.

Here is the useful observation. While researching the roofing version of this list, we encountered the same map pack click share statistic reported as nearly 50 percent. Here it is 42 percent. Both come from agency published research, both are presented as established fact, and they disagree with each other by a wide margin.

That disagreement is the point. Google does not publish click share or ranking weights, so every number in this category is an estimate produced by practitioners from their own data. That does not make them worthless, since practitioner research is often the best evidence available when the platform publishes nothing, and the directions are consistent: the map pack matters a great deal, the profile and reviews drive most of what you control, the primary category is a large lever, and steady review flow beats a stale high rating.

Use them as directions rather than as measurements, and when a vendor quotes one, ask where it came from. A vendor who names the source is thinking. A vendor who cannot is reading a slide.

The category point in particular is worth acting on regardless of whether the 31 percent figure is precise, because checking it is free. Open your profile and look at the primary category. If it says contractor, or heating contractor when most of your revenue is cooling, or anything other than what you actually want to be found for, that is the cheapest available improvement and no retainer is required to make it.

The demand, measured

We pulled our own Keyword Planner data for this vertical. The set contains 483 unique keywords across national, Texas and San Antonio DMA geographies, with 1,167 rows carrying at least ten monthly searches.

Inside the San Antonio DMA, the cluster around ac repair san antonio, hvac repair san antonio and air conditioning repair san antonio carries roughly 2,400 searches per month at a top of page bid of $39.85 to $129.91. Hvac san antonio carries about 1,300 at $19.36 to $100.00. The variant hvac repair san antonio tx, at 140 searches, reaches $186.38, the highest figure in our set. And 24 hour ac repair san antonio, small at 10 monthly searches, runs $31.25 to $130.07.

Three profiles appear in the map pack against 2,400 monthly searches on one term cluster. That ratio is the entire argument for doing this work, and it is also why a retainer that moves you from position six to position two pays for itself quickly at these volumes while one that moves you from twelve to eight pays for nothing.

1. RYNO Strategic Solutions and Blue Corona

These two merged and now operate together. RYNO was founded in 2007 at 15600 N Black Canyon Highway, Suite C200 in Phoenix with 51 to 200 employees. Blue Corona opened in 2008 and is based in Charlotte. Both work across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and roofing.

What it is genuinely good at. Closing the measurement loop, which in local search is where most engagements fail. RYNO's proprietary platform RYNOtrax2.0 integrates with ServiceTitan and more than thirty ad platforms, putting marketing and operations data in one place. In HVAC that matters more than almost anywhere, because map pack calls and Local Services Ads leads are only worth what they convert into, and the job data lives in ServiceTitan rather than in an SEO dashboard. Named clients include Gee Heating and Air, The Works Plumbing, Total Air in the Dallas market, Arctic Air Conditioning and American Vintage Home, and Blue Corona publishes lead recovery work that booked an additional hundred jobs for one client without added spend.

Where to look closely. Raise the merger first: ask which entity you contract with, whose team does the work and whether process or pricing changed. Neither publishes pricing and neither competes at the low end. Both are outside Texas. Proprietary platforms are a portability question, so ask what happens to your data if you leave.

Best fit. An established HVAC company already running ServiceTitan and real ad spend that wants leads measured against completed jobs.

2. Funnel Boost Media

Funnel Boost Media is the most credentialed agency headquartered in San Antonio, founded in 2012 by Ryan Duncan, veteran owned, with home services among its core verticals.

What it is genuinely good at. Proving search capability rather than claiming it. Its own domain carries a domain authority of 34 with more than 2,600 referring domains and it ranks organically for the competitive terms it sells. Forbes named it to a list of America's best digital marketing companies. It is also the only company here that can run the website, the Google Business Profile and AI visibility from one San Antonio office, which matters because those three depend on the same consistency of business facts and splitting them across vendors is how that consistency degrades.

Where to look closely. HVAC is one trade inside home services, one vertical among several. Ask how many HVAC profiles they currently manage, ask whether Local Services Ads are in scope or out, and ask what they do about the seasonal swing. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. An HVAC company that wants the strongest local track record and everything under one local roof.

3. Get Local Presence

We treat local search as one of three things inside a single monthly plan alongside the website and AI visibility, rather than as a standalone retainer.

What we are genuinely built for. Map pack visibility that lands on a slow or wrong page produces nothing, and in HVAC the wrong page problem is seasonal rather than occasional. The profile drives the call, but the click from that profile lands on a page, and the page that should greet a July emergency visitor is not the page that should greet a January heating customer. Keeping the profile, the service list, the seasonal pages and the review requests moving together is ongoing work that stops happening when the site sits with a vendor who is no longer engaged. We operate the site, so it does not stop. Plans run from $499 to $999 monthly, no contract, rebuild included.

Where we are honestly weaker. Two specific gaps. We do not integrate with ServiceTitan the way RYNOtrax does, so if you want closed loop reporting from lead to completed job, that is a real capability we lack. And Building Blocks Digital is built around Local Services Ads in a way we are not, so if the Google Guaranteed placement is your primary objective, weigh that honestly. We will tell you what the LSA requirements are and why you qualify, which is what the section above does, but a specialist runs it as a managed channel.

Best fit. An HVAC company that wants the site, the profile and AI visibility owned by one accountable party through the seasonal swing, at a predictable monthly cost.

4. Hook Agency

Hook Agency operates from 600 N Washington Ave, Suite C203 in Minneapolis, specializing in contractor work across roofing and HVAC, founder led, and publishes dedicated material on running Google Local Services Ads for HVAC.

What it is genuinely good at. It is one of only two companies on this list treating Local Services Ads as a named discipline rather than an afterthought, alongside website design, SEO, Google Ads and Maps SEO. An agency running both LSAs and paid search can tell you which is actually cheaper for your job mix, since one bills per lead and the other bills per click at up to $129.91 in this market, and the answer is not the same for every contractor. Its published contractor portfolio is verifiable before the first call.

Where to look closely. Minneapolis, where HVAC is heating led and the emergency season is winter. San Antonio is the inverse, and that changes the seasonal calendar, the review request timing and the emergency messaging. Ask directly how they would handle a July surge. Pricing is not published, and results claims are self reported.

Best fit. An HVAC contractor who wants the map pack and the Local Services Ads placement managed by one vendor and is comfortable with a remote agency.

5. Building Blocks Digital

Building Blocks Digital operates from Albuquerque, New Mexico and targets plumbing and HVAC companies specifically, positioning around Google Local Services, call tracking software and lead quality, alongside local SEO, Google Business Profile optimization, review generation, Google Ads and web design.

What it is genuinely good at. It is the only company on this list whose core positioning is the placement described above rather than the map pack beneath it, and its published material on LSA requirements for plumbing and HVAC is genuinely useful rather than promotional. Naming lead quality and call tracking as explicit specialties matters operationally, because Local Services Ads bill per lead and some of those leads are wrong numbers, spam or out of area. Disputing them is real work that recovers real money, and a vendor who names it as a specialty is describing the job accurately.

Where to look closely. This company previously operated under the domain digitalharvest.io, which now redirects to buildingblocksdigital.com, so a rebrand or change happened recently. That is not a problem in itself and companies rebrand constantly, but ask about it directly, along with founding year, founder, team size and how long the current entity has been operating. No clients are named and no pricing is published. Albuquerque rather than Texas, so ask what they know about this market.

Best fit. An HVAC contractor whose main objective is the Google Guaranteed placement and who wants lead disputes handled by someone who treats it as a discipline.

6. LocalMighty

LocalMighty is a San Antonio local SEO agency with more than ten years of local search experience, publishing a dedicated HVAC local SEO guide and specializing in Google Business Profile optimization alongside GEO, AEO and AI search.

What it is genuinely good at. Local presence combined with a published HVAC specific point of view, which is a better combination than either alone. It focuses on the map pack as the objective rather than rankings generally, which is the correct target for a trade where most emergency demand resolves in Maps without the homeowner ever visiting a website. Treating Maps and AI visibility as one connected program is also mechanically accurate, since both draw on reviews, profile completeness and citation consistency.

Where to look closely. It advertises measurable growth within 60 days or the next month free. Ask exactly what metric that covers and who measures it. Ask whether Local Services Ads are in scope, since the published material centers on organic local rather than the paid placement above it. Pricing, team size and client count are not published.

Best fit. An HVAC company that wants a local vendor focused specifically on map pack performance.

7. Thrive Internet Marketing Agency

Thrive Internet Marketing Agency runs an HVAC practice combining local search with web design, paid search, content and conversion rate optimization, and states its team understands how HVAC businesses operate including seasonal demand fluctuations and emergency service needs.

What it is genuinely good at. Naming seasonality and emergency service explicitly, which are the two things that make HVAC local search different from every other trade, and having the scale to act on them. Large agency process maturity reduces the risk of an engagement stalling because one person left, a genuine hazard with small shops. It has extensive verified reviews and has been moving deliberately into AI search optimization alongside traditional work.

Where to look closely. HVAC is one of many industries served, so ask how many HVAC clients are active and ask what specifically changes in the program between May and November. Large agencies assign account teams, so ask who does the work and how often the team rotates. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. An HVAC company that prioritizes scale and process reliability over trade exclusivity or local presence.

8. Texas Web Design

Texas Web Design serves San Antonio contractors and home service businesses including HVAC companies, with pages built for specific areas including Stone Oak, Boerne and Alamo Heights.

What it is genuinely good at. Neighborhood level geography, which is more useful in HVAC local search than most vendors realize. Housing stock determines system age, system type and job value, and a 1950s bungalow in Alamo Heights, a 2015 build in Stone Oak and a Hill Country property in Boerne are three different customers. Since the map pack is proximity weighted and a single HVAC company cannot rank uniformly across a metro this size, content built around distinct submarkets is one of the few levers that reaches searches a single city page never will.

Where to look closely. The published emphasis is web design rather than ongoing local search management, so ask what the local SEO engagement actually includes month to month, whether the Google Business Profile is managed and whether reviews are handled. Ask whether the neighborhood pages are genuinely differentiated or one page with the name swapped. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. An HVAC company that wants local geographic depth and treats the profile work as a smaller part of the engagement.

What this actually costs

HVAC local search spans a wide band, and none of the companies on this list publish pricing, which is itself worth knowing before you start calling.

San Antonio generalist agencies commonly start local SEO retainers around $1,500 monthly and rise past $3,000 once content and paid media are included. National home services specialists typically sit above that, because trade knowledge and platform integration are the product. Managed monthly providers bundle local search with the website rather than pricing it separately, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the site, local search and AI visibility together and a rebuild included.

Local Services Ads sit outside all of that as a separate media cost billed per lead, plus whatever management fee a vendor charges to run it. Ask for both numbers separately, because a proposal that blends the retainer and the ad spend into one figure makes it impossible to tell what you are paying for management versus what you are paying for leads.

The comparison that matters is cost per acquired job across channels. With one term cluster carrying 2,400 monthly searches at up to $129.91 a click, paid search is expensive per contact. Local Services Ads bill per lead but include leads you will need to dispute. Map pack visibility costs a retainer and produces calls that never touch your website. Any vendor worth hiring can tell you which of the three is cheapest for your specific job mix, and a vendor who insists it is always the one they sell is answering from inventory rather than from your numbers.

Questions to ask before you sign

These apply to every company on this page, us included.

Are Local Services Ads in scope, and who handles verification and renewals? This is the HVAC specific question. The license, insurance and background check verification is real operational work, technician screening has to stay current as crews change, and lead disputes recover money that otherwise leaks. If the answer is that LSAs are out of scope, that is a legitimate answer, but you should know it rather than discover it.

What is our primary Google Business Profile category right now? Ask this in the first conversation. A vendor who has not looked has not audited anything, and correcting a wrong primary category is free.

Who owns the Google Business Profile? It must live on an account you control with the vendor added as a manager. The profile carries the reviews, and reviews are the asset that took years. Get this in writing before work starts.

What changes between May and November? HVAC demand is not level, and neither is competition or review flow. A vendor with no seasonal plan is running a landscaping playbook on a business that makes most of its money in a four month window.

How do reviews get requested, by whom, and at what point in the job? Steady flow beats a stale high rating. Ask for the mechanism, not the intention, and ask whether the request is automated from your field software or done manually by an office that is busiest exactly when the reviews matter most.

Where does that statistic come from? When you hear that the map pack is 42 percent of clicks, or nearly 50, or that a category change lifts visibility 31 percent, ask for the source. We have now seen the same map pack figure published at two materially different numbers, which tells you what these are.

Frequently asked questions

What are Local Services Ads and why do they matter for HVAC?+

They are a paid placement that sits above the map pack, taking up a large share of the mobile screen before anything else loads, which matters because most emergency HVAC searches happen on a phone. They bill per lead rather than per click, so someone has to actually contact you before a charge lands. They cannot be earned through SEO. You qualify by passing Google's screening: current verified licenses, general liability insurance typically at a million dollars minimum, workers compensation if you have employees, and background checks on the owner and every field technician appearing in the ads, with HVAC professionals receiving an additional level of screening. Passing puts a green Google Guaranteed checkmark on your listing.

Why can an HVAC contractor get Google Guaranteed when a roofer cannot?+

Because the screening requires verified licensing and Texas licenses the two trades differently. HVAC is licensed through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license, with EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling, all of it verifiable. Texas issues no statewide roofing license at all, so a roofing contractor cannot satisfy a license verification requirement that does not exist for their trade. That is a structural advantage handed to HVAC contractors at the very top of the results, and most of them are not using it.

Are the map pack ranking statistics agencies quote reliable?+

They are informed estimates rather than facts, and we can demonstrate why. Researching the roofing version of this list we found the map pack click share published as nearly 50 percent. Researching this one we found it published as 42 percent. Both are presented as established fact and they disagree substantially. Google publishes neither click share nor ranking weights, so every figure in this category comes from practitioner research on their own data. The directions are consistent and useful: the map pack matters, the profile and reviews drive most of what you control, the primary category is a large lever, and steady review flow beats a stale high rating. Treat the specific percentages as directions, and ask any vendor quoting one where it came from.

What is the cheapest improvement an HVAC contractor can make today?+

Check the primary category on your Google Business Profile. The primary category determines which searches your profile is eligible to appear in at all, so a profile set to a generic contractor category, or to heating contractor when most of your revenue is cooling, is filtered out of searches it should be winning. Agency research puts the visibility lift from correcting this at around 31 percent on average, which is the kind of oddly precise figure worth treating as a direction rather than a measurement. It costs nothing to check and nothing to fix, and if a vendor's audit does not raise it in the first conversation, they have skipped the free win.

How much does HVAC local SEO cost in San Antonio?+

None of the companies on this list publish pricing, which is worth knowing before you start calling. San Antonio generalist agencies commonly start local SEO retainers around $1,500 monthly and rise past $3,000 with content and paid media included. National home services specialists typically sit above that. Managed monthly providers bundle local search with the website rather than pricing it separately, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the site, local search and AI visibility together and a rebuild included. Local Services Ads sit outside all of it as a per lead media cost plus a management fee, so ask for those two numbers separately.

Do reviews matter more than ratings for HVAC?+

Flow appears to matter more than the number itself. The consistent finding across practitioner research is that a contractor earning fifteen to twenty new reviews a month will typically outrank a competitor with a higher average rating collecting two or three, because steady recent activity signals an operating business while a stale high rating signals nothing current. For HVAC there is a seasonal complication: your review flow will naturally spike in summer when volume spikes, then fall off. The practical answer is a request mechanism built into your field software so it fires on every completed job automatically, rather than an office task that gets skipped precisely when the office is busiest.

Should I do local SEO or just run Local Services Ads?+

Most HVAC contractors with real volume end up doing both, and the honest comparison is cost per acquired job rather than cost per month. Local Services Ads produce leads immediately and bill per contact, but some of those contacts are wrong numbers, spam or out of area and have to be disputed to recover the money, which is ongoing operational work. Map pack visibility takes a retainer and time, and it produces calls that never touch your website and keep arriving after you stop paying for ads. Paid search sits between them and costs up to $129.91 per click in this metro on the highest value terms. A vendor worth hiring can tell you which is cheapest for your specific job mix. One who says it is always the channel they sell is answering from inventory.

Your website may be losing calls you never knew existed.

We will review the message, structure, search visibility and lead path, then show you the three fixes most likely to matter.
