Best AI search visibility companies for law firms in San Antonio.

Getlo, the Get Local Presence mascot
GETLO'S
FIELD NOTE

A criteria based breakdown of the companies doing generative and answer engine optimization for San Antonio law firms, what it costs against a $911.50 click, and the Texas advertising rule nobody raises.

Quick answer: The companies genuinely doing AI search visibility work for law firms split into two groups, and neither one is complete on its own. The legal exclusive agencies, led by 9Sail, understand the practice areas and the advertising rules but run this work from outside Texas. The San Antonio agencies, led by Funnel Boost Media, understand this city and publish real generative engine optimization services but treat legal as one vertical among several. No firm we could find combines a staffed San Antonio operation with legal exclusivity and a documented AI citation track record. Below is a criteria based breakdown of who actually does this work for law firms in this market, what it costs against the alternative of buying the same click, and the Texas advertising rule problem that nobody selling this service is raising with you.

Editorial disclosure. Get Local Presence publishes this list and appears in it at number three. We are not a neutral third party and we are not pretending to be one. Every other company named here is a real, independently operating business marketing AI search, generative engine or answer engine optimization services to law firms, and none of them paid for placement or reviewed this page before publication. We placed ourselves in the bracket where our model honestly competes, not at the top. This category contains more unverifiable claims than any other area of legal marketing, including potentially our own, so the section on how to test a proposal applies to us exactly as it applies to everyone else on this page.

How we built this list, and what we deliberately ignored

Three filters produced the nine companies below.

The company had to publish a defined AI search service, not a mention. Almost every marketing agency in Texas now has a paragraph somewhere claiming AI expertise. We only included companies with a named service covering generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization or AI search visibility as a deliverable with its own scope. A paragraph is positioning. A service page with deliverables is something you can hold a vendor to.

The company had to actually work with law firms. Legal is not a generic vertical. It carries bar advertising rules, contingency fee economics and client confidentiality constraints that change how content can be written. A vendor who has never handled a lawyer account will discover those constraints on your budget.

The company had to be reachable for San Antonio work. That means either a staffed local operation or a legal exclusive national practice that takes Texas clients. Both are legitimate answers, and the tradeoff between them is most of what this decision is about.

We deliberately ignored three things. We ignored self reported rankings on directory sites that let agencies pay for position, because they measure marketing budget rather than delivery. We ignored any claim of a guaranteed position inside an AI answer, because no such position exists to be guaranteed. And we ignored generic SEO agencies that added the letters AI to an existing retainer without changing the deliverables, which eliminated more candidates than the other two filters combined.

One honest limitation. In an established category we would weight case studies heavily. This category is roughly two years old, so almost nobody has a documented before and after in an AI assistant for a San Antonio law firm. We weighted what could be verified instead: published scope, legal specialization, local presence and pricing transparency.

The argument for a law firm here is not that AI search is interesting. It is arithmetic.

Our Keyword Planner research set for the legal vertical contains 775 keywords, 749 of them with at least ten monthly searches, pulled across national, Texas and San Antonio DMA geographies. Inside the San Antonio DMA, the term accident attorney san antonio carries roughly 260 local searches per month with a top of page bid range running from $264.79 to $911.50 per click. Read that again. A single click, not a signed client, not a consultation, a click, can cost more than nine hundred dollars at the top of that auction.

The broader agency terms show the same pressure one level up. Nationally, law firm seo carries 4,400 monthly searches at $31.08 to $165.16 per click, ppc marketing for lawyers carries 6,600 searches at $40.00 to $126.00, and personal injury marketing companies carries 9,900. Those are the prices of buying attention in the channels that already exist and are already contested.

Now consider the alternative. When someone opens ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews and asks which San Antonio firm handles their car accident case, the firm that gets named pays nothing for that mention. There is no auction, no cost per click, no bid. The cost sits entirely in the work required to become the answer, which is a fixed monthly expense rather than a per click one.

Esquire Digital, one of the legal exclusive agencies on this list, publishes a figure from a 2026 Martindale-Avvo consumer survey putting the share of people who begin an attorney search with an AI assistant at 41 percent, up from 12 percent in 2024. We are reporting that as their published claim rather than as something we verified independently, and you should treat it that way. What we can say from our own measurement is narrower and more useful, and it is in the next section.

What AI search visibility actually is, and what it is not

Traditional SEO tries to rank a page inside a list of links. This work tries to make your firm the entity named inside a generated answer. Those are related problems with different solutions, and the difference is not cosmetic.

We know this because it was measured directly rather than assumed. On our parent company's domain, a twenty prompt audit of AI citations found that every single family of pages the assistants cited was a comparative article. Not one city landing page appeared. Not one service page appeared. The highest traffic page family on the entire domain, carrying more than 32,000 search impressions, was cited zero times across all twenty prompts, while a much smaller family of comparison articles was cited repeatedly.

Traffic did not predict citation. Format did.

The same audit produced a second finding that matters more for a law firm than for almost any other local business. Visibility inside AI answers tracked how specifically the question was asked. Prompts naming a specific service and a specific city returned the brand 71.2 percent of the time. Prompts naming a service and a state or region returned it 28.3 percent of the time. Prompts phrased generically, including near me phrasing, returned it 3.6 percent of the time.

For a San Antonio firm that translates directly. The prompt you can realistically win is the one a person types when they already know what happened to them and where they are, which is exactly the prompt a person with a case types. The generic prompt is not worth chasing and any vendor building a program around it is building on the weakest available signal.

The practical consequence is that the work which earns a citation is not the work which earns a ranking, and a vendor who cannot articulate that distinction in plain language is selling an SEO retainer with a new label attached.

The Texas advertising rule problem nobody in this category is raising

This is the section we have not seen a single competitor in this market address, and it is specific to lawyers.

Texas Disciplinary Rule of Professional Conduct 7.01(a) prohibits a lawyer from making or sponsoring a false or misleading communication about the qualifications or services of a lawyer or law firm. Rule 7.02(a)(3) goes further and prohibits comparing a lawyer's services with other lawyers' services unless the comparison can be substantiated by reference to verifiable, objective data.

Now consider what an AI visibility program is actually trying to produce. The goal is to get an assistant to say your firm is a strong choice for a particular kind of case in San Antonio. That output is comparative by construction. It ranks you against other lawyers.

Here is the distinction that matters, and the reason this is a real issue rather than a scare tactic. An assistant's answer is generated by a third party and is not by itself your communication. But the assistant builds that answer from sources, and the primary source a good vendor gives it is your own website. If the way a vendor earns you citations is by writing unsubstantiated superlatives into your site so the assistant echoes them back, the vendor has manufactured a communication that is yours, that is comparative, and that may not be substantiated by verifiable objective data. The regulatory exposure lands on the firm and the bar card. It does not land on the agency.

Rule 7.05 is the related piece that we covered in our companion list on website design, and the short version is that a firm website is largely exempt from the advertising filing requirement with the homepage as the notable exception. Exempt from filing is not the same as exempt from the content rules. The content rules apply everywhere.

We are a marketing company, not your ethics counsel, and nothing on this page is legal advice about your specific situation. The actionable point is procedural rather than legal. Ask any vendor in this category, us included, to show you the exact language they plan to add to your site to earn citations, before it is published. Then run the comparative claims past whoever handles your compliance, or through the State Bar of Texas Advertising Review Department. A vendor who resists showing you the copy in advance has told you something important about how they work.

1. 9Sail

9Sail is a legal exclusive marketing agency operating from West Islip, New York, with a dedicated law firm generative engine optimization practice rather than a general service that mentions AI.

What it is genuinely good at. The scope is unusually specific for this category. The published service covers structured sourceable content built for AI comprehension, authoritative mentions and backlinks from legal directories, consistent trust signals across schema and directory listings, answer engine optimization for direct answer positioning, AI overview optimization, and management of the llms.txt file that controls how AI crawlers access a site. That last item in particular is a technical deliverable, not a talking point. The firm works across ten practice areas including personal injury, criminal defense, family law, estate planning and immigration, and names client firms publicly, which most agencies in this category do not.

Where to look closely. Their published city coverage includes Dallas and Houston but not San Antonio. That is not disqualifying for work that is largely remote, but it means you would be an early San Antonio account rather than joining an existing local book, so ask directly what changes in the program because your market is San Antonio rather than Houston. Pricing is not published, so budget is a first call conversation.

Best fit. A firm that wants legal specialization and a technically specific published scope, and is comfortable with a vendor that runs the work remotely from the East Coast.

2. Funnel Boost Media

Funnel Boost Media is the strongest San Antonio option for this work and the clearest local case of a company that moved into the category early rather than waiting for it to settle.

What it is genuinely good at. It maintains three separate San Antonio service pages covering answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization and LLM optimization, which is a level of investment that distinguishes real practice from repositioning. It is a veteran owned San Antonio agency founded in 2012 by Ryan Duncan, has been named to a Forbes list of America's best digital marketing companies, and publishes named law firm clients including JV Law Group and Eaton Family Law Group. Its own domain carries a domain authority of 34 with more than 2,600 referring domains, and it ranks organically for its own competitive market terms. An agency that ranks for the terms it sells has demonstrated the underlying skill rather than described it.

Where to look closely. Legal is one of several verticals alongside home services, healthcare and ecommerce. Ask how many legal accounts have an active AI visibility component specifically, what is measured, and how often. Ask about minimum commitment, because this is not the low end of the market. Ask also who writes the copy that goes on your site, and read the compliance section above before that call.

Best fit. An established firm with real budget that wants the most credentialed San Antonio option and is comfortable being one account among many in a large agency.

3. Get Local Presence

We treat AI search visibility as one of three things handled inside a single monthly plan alongside the website and local search, rather than as a separate specialty retainer bolted onto an existing arrangement.

What we are genuinely built for. This work is a website problem before it is a visibility problem, which is why splitting it across vendors stalls. Getting cited by an assistant requires content that answers a specific question directly and self containedly on your own pages, plus schema that describes the firm and its practice areas unambiguously, plus a citation and reputation footprint that agrees with itself everywhere it appears. Every one of those requires page level changes, repeatedly, as the work is tested and adjusted. When the AI visibility vendor cannot edit the site, each change queues behind a web developer who is no longer engaged and no longer motivated. We own and operate the site, so the change happens the week it is decided. Plans run from $499 to $999 monthly, no contract, and a rebuild is included in every plan rather than quoted separately.

Where we are honestly weaker. We are a newer brand in San Antonio. We cannot show you two decades of local legal clients the way JCE SEO can, and we are not legal exclusive the way 9Sail, Esquire Digital and Attorney Marketing Network are. If your matter is a complex multi jurisdiction practice with unusual regulatory exposure, a legal only firm may simply know more about your category than we do on day one.

Where to look closely. What we can point to is that our parent company Rendimension measured this specific outcome on its own domains, moving from zero AI citations to being the most cited brand in its category as measured by Ubersuggest AI Search Visibility tracking, and the methods on this page came out of that work. That is a documented result in a different industry, not a San Antonio law firm case study, and you should weigh it as exactly that and no more. We also will not promise you a position inside an AI answer, because that promise cannot be kept by anyone.

Best fit. A small or mid sized firm that wants the website, local search and AI visibility owned by one accountable party at a predictable monthly cost, and that understands this is a compounding result rather than an immediate one.

4. Esquire Digital

Esquire Digital serves law firms exclusively and publishes one of the more substantive public guides to generative and answer engine optimization for attorneys.

What it is genuinely good at. Depth of published thinking, which in a category this young is a meaningful signal, because the companies willing to explain the mechanism in detail are usually the ones actually doing the work. It also happens to be the mechanism itself, since explanatory content is exactly what assistants draw from. The service range is full stack, covering website design, SEO, paid search, Google Business Profile management, video, public relations and AI search optimization across both GEO and AEO, and its chief operating officer Brad Wetherall is a former director of operations at Google.

Where to look closely. The company markets a proprietary named framework for AI visibility. Proprietary frameworks are a normal way to package a service, but they can also obscure what is actually being delivered, so ask for the deliverable list in plain language with no framework vocabulary in it. Ask for a before and after inside an actual assistant for any client in any market.

Best fit. A firm that wants a legal exclusive full service partner and values published expertise over local proximity.

5. JCE SEO

JCE SEO is a San Antonio search firm operating since 2005 with more than 150 local clients, certified as a Texas minority owned business, running a dedicated law firm SEO service for this city.

What it is genuinely good at. Longevity and local density that cannot be bought quickly. A firm that has served 150 clients in one metro across two decades holds institutional knowledge about San Antonio that transfers usefully into AI visibility work, because a large part of what an assistant uses to describe a local business is the same reputation, citation and consistency footprint that local search has always depended on. Its law firm service explicitly covers content built for both Google and AI answer engines alongside practice area architecture and technical work.

Where to look closely. A firm founded in 2005 built its practice in a different discipline, so ask specifically when the answer engine work began and what it consists of as a deliverable. Ask to see a before and after in an assistant rather than a rankings report, and accept a straight answer of not yet, because in this category that answer is common and honest.

Best fit. A firm that wants a long established local vendor and views AI visibility as a layer on top of a well built local search foundation rather than a separate program.

6. Attorney Marketing Network

Attorney Marketing Network works with law firms exclusively and markets a combined AI SEO, AI overview optimization and generative engine optimization offer for lawyers.

What it is genuinely good at. The three way distinction it publishes is technically correct and most agencies get it wrong. AI SEO covers content structured for assistant comprehension, AI overview optimization targets citation inside Google's generated summaries specifically, and generative engine optimization targets standalone assistants like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Those are genuinely different surfaces with different behavior, and a vendor that separates them is describing the problem accurately. The company was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America in 2025.

Where to look closely. Pricing is explicitly variable by practice area, competition and target location, with no published range, so expect a scoping call before any number appears. Ask what portion of the retainer is new work versus existing SEO deliverables that were already in scope.

Best fit. A firm that wants a legal exclusive vendor with a technically precise account of the three AI surfaces and does not need published pricing up front.

7. Acute SEO

Acute SEO is headquartered in Reno, Nevada, founded in 2017, and runs a San Antonio service with a specific law firm practice covering personal injury, family law, estate planning and criminal defense.

What it is genuinely good at. Pricing transparency, which is rare in this category and worth a great deal when you are comparing proposals. It publishes law firm engagements starting at $2,500 monthly against $1,500 monthly for non legal businesses, on month to month agreements with a recommended six month horizon for results. It names the specific platforms it optimizes for, including Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude and Grok, and reports more than 50 clients and 250 websites launched.

Where to look closely. The San Antonio presence is a service area rather than a staffed local office, so treat local market knowledge as something to test rather than assume. The published legal premium of a thousand dollars a month over other verticals is worth asking about directly. A good answer explains the additional work that legal actually requires. A weak answer is that lawyers have bigger budgets.

Best fit. A firm that values published pricing and month to month terms, and is comfortable with a remote vendor operating from outside Texas.

8. LocalMighty

LocalMighty is a San Antonio local SEO agency positioning explicitly around GEO, AEO and AI SEO for this market, with more than ten years of local search experience and law firms named among the sectors it serves.

What it is genuinely good at. The framing is mechanically correct. It treats Google Maps visibility and AI search visibility as one connected program rather than two products, and that is accurate, because both draw on overlapping signals including review volume and sentiment, profile completeness and citation consistency across the web. A vendor describing them as one problem understands the mechanism.

Where to look closely. It advertises a guarantee of measurable growth within 60 days or the next month is free. In local search that is a defensible offer. In AI visibility it is much harder to underwrite honestly, because there is no ranked position to move and output varies by phrasing and by week. Ask precisely what metric the guarantee is measured against and whether AI visibility is inside or outside it. Ask also what portion of the engagement is genuinely new work versus existing local SEO relabeled, which is the central question to put to every generalist in this category.

Best fit. A firm that wants map pack and AI visibility handled as one local program by a local vendor.

9. LawSEO

LawSEO, legally SEO for Lawyers, LLC, is a legal exclusive practice led by founder Todd Stager, publishing generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization and AI SEO alongside traditional law firm search work, with a San Antonio location page among many US markets.

What it is genuinely good at. Clear category separation between GEO, AEO and the use of AI tooling inside its own workflow, which are three different things that get conflated constantly in this market. The founder led structure means the person selling the work is likely the person accountable for it, which at the smaller end of the market matters more than any credential.

Where to look closely. This is the youngest company on the list and it operates across a long list of city landing pages including San Antonio, which is a coverage strategy rather than a local presence. Ask how many law firm accounts are currently active with AI visibility work in scope, and ask what specifically changes because the firm is in Bexar County. Founder led is a strength on accountability and a risk on capacity, so ask who does the work when the founder is booked.

Best fit. A smaller firm that wants direct access to a legal exclusive practitioner and is comfortable being an early account.

What this actually costs

Pricing in this category is unsettled, which is what you would expect from a discipline this young, and the spread between models is wider than in any other local marketing service.

The legal exclusive national agencies generally do not publish pricing at all. Expect a scoping call, and expect law firm retainers in this bracket to start meaningfully above general business rates. The one published legal number on this list comes from Acute SEO at $2,500 monthly to start, against $1,500 for non legal businesses, which is a useful anchor for what a specialist retainer looks like even though it is a single data point.

The San Antonio generalists typically sell AI visibility as an addition to a local SEO retainer, which in this market commonly starts around $1,500 monthly and rises past $3,000 once content and paid media are included. Some price the AI component as a separate line item on top of that.

Managed monthly providers bundle it into one plan, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the website, local search and AI visibility all inside the same plan and a rebuild included.

The specific thing to watch is double payment. Schema work, content structuring, review consistency and citation cleanup all serve local search and AI visibility simultaneously. If your current SEO vendor already performs them, a separate AI visibility retainer may be billing you a second time for overlapping deliverables. Ask both vendors for a written deliverable list and put the two lists side by side before you add a line item to your monthly spend.

Set all of that against the number from the top of this page. In the San Antonio DMA, one top of page click on accident attorney san antonio can run to $911.50. A monthly AI visibility engagement at any price on this list is a fraction of a handful of clicks, and unlike the click, it does not reset to zero the moment you stop paying.

Questions to ask before you sign

This category has more unverifiable claims than any other area of legal marketing, so the questions matter more than the credentials. They apply to us equally.

Ask them to show you a before and after inside an actual AI assistant. Not a rankings report, not a traffic chart. A specific prompt, the answer before their work, and the answer after. If they cannot produce one for any client in any market, they are early in this too, which is acceptable, but you should know it going in rather than discovering it in month four.

Ask to see the copy before it is published. This is the legal specific question and it comes straight from the compliance section above. Comparative and superlative claims on your own site are governed by Rule 7.02(a)(3) and Rule 7.01(a), and the exposure runs to your bar card rather than to the agency. A vendor who will not show you the language in advance has answered the question.

Ask what specifically is different from SEO. A strong answer names concrete things: self contained answers to specific questions on the page, entity clarity through schema, consistency of firm facts across every source an assistant reads, and comparative content that assistants draw from. A weak answer says AI is changing everything and pivots back to keywords.

Ask who edits the website and how fast. This work requires page changes continuously. If the vendor cannot make them directly, ask how many business days a change takes in practice, and ask for the answer as a number.

Ask what they measure, with what tool, and against what baseline. There should be a named tracking tool, a fixed set of tracked prompts, and a baseline captured before any work begins. Without a frozen baseline you will never be able to tell whether anything worked. Ask also whether the tracked prompts are phrased the way a person with a case would phrase them. Prompts written as general legal questions return articles and directories rather than firms, which makes every firm look absent regardless of the work performed. Getting the instrument right is a prerequisite, not a formality.

Ask what they will not promise. A vendor who declines to use the words position or guarantee is more likely to be describing this discipline accurately than one who reaches for them.

Frequently asked questions

Is any company doing AI search visibility specifically for San Antonio law firms?+

Not in the complete sense. The legal exclusive agencies with the deepest AI search practices, including 9Sail, Esquire Digital, Attorney Marketing Network and LawSEO, run the work from outside Texas and treat San Antonio as one covered market among many. The agencies with a genuine San Antonio operation, led by Funnel Boost Media, JCE SEO and LocalMighty, publish real AI search services but handle legal as one vertical alongside home services and healthcare. Choosing between legal specialization and local presence is the actual decision, and no vendor we found removes that tradeoff.

What is the difference between AI search visibility and regular law firm SEO?+

SEO tries to rank a page inside a list of links. AI search visibility tries to make your firm the entity named inside a generated answer. They overlap but they are not the same, and a page can do well at one and poorly at the other. Measured on our parent company's domain, the highest traffic page family, with more than 32,000 impressions, was cited zero times across a twenty prompt AI audit, while a much smaller family of comparison articles was cited repeatedly. Traffic did not predict citation. Format did.

Can an AI visibility vendor create a Texas bar advertising problem for my firm?+

It is a real risk worth managing, though nothing here is legal advice about your situation. Rule 7.01(a) prohibits false or misleading communications about a lawyer's qualifications or services, and Rule 7.02(a)(3) prohibits comparing your services with other lawyers' services unless the comparison is substantiated by verifiable, objective data. An assistant's generated answer is a third party output, but assistants build answers from your website. If a vendor earns citations by writing unsubstantiated superlatives into your pages, that content is your communication and the exposure runs to your bar card rather than to the agency. Ask to review all copy before publication and route the comparative claims through your compliance process or the State Bar of Texas Advertising Review Department.

Can any company guarantee my firm will be recommended by ChatGPT?+

No, and a guarantee should end the conversation. There is no ranked list to occupy inside a generated answer, and the output varies by phrasing, by assistant and over time. What a vendor can legitimately offer is a defined scope of work, a frozen baseline measurement captured before starting, and a fixed set of tracked prompts measured repeatedly so movement is visible. Any claim stated as a position or a percentage promise is a sales claim rather than a deliverable.

Is this worth the money compared with running Google Ads?+

Compare the two on cost per outcome rather than cost per month. In the San Antonio DMA, the term accident attorney san antonio carries a top of page bid range from $264.79 to $911.50 per click, and that is per click rather than per signed client. Nationally, law firm seo sits at $31.08 to $165.16 and ppc marketing for lawyers at $40.00 to $126.00. A mention inside an AI answer carries no per click cost at all. The tradeoff is timing. Paid search produces calls the day it turns on and stops the day it turns off. AI visibility compounds slowly and persists. Most firms with budget run both, and the reason to start the slow one now is that it is cheapest before the category is contested.

What kind of prompts should be tracked for a law firm?+

Prompts that name a specific service and a specific city, because that is where the measurable visibility is. In a twenty prompt audit on our parent company's domain, service plus city prompts returned the brand 71.2 percent of the time, service plus state or region returned it 28.3 percent, and generic or near me phrasing returned it 3.6 percent. For a firm here that means tracking how someone asks about a specific case type in San Antonio rather than tracking general legal questions. Prompts written as general questions return articles, directories and legal information sites rather than firms, which makes every firm look absent and tells you nothing about the work.

Should AI search visibility be bought separately from SEO?+

Watch for double payment. Schema work, content structuring, review consistency and citation cleanup serve both disciplines, so if your current SEO vendor already performs them, a separate AI visibility retainer may be billing again for overlapping deliverables. Ask both vendors for a written deliverable list and compare them side by side. The work also requires frequent page level changes, so whoever performs it needs either direct access to the website or a fast documented path to someone who has it.
