Best AI search visibility companies for general contractors in San Antonio.

Getlo, the Get Local Presence mascot
GETLO'S
FIELD NOTE

A contractor's AI risk is misdescription, not invisibility. Who does this work, what it costs, and the one thing to publish that both qualifies buyers and earns citations.

Quick answer: Every other trade's AI search problem is being found. A general contractor's is being described. Remodeling work comes from referrals, so the prompt that decides your revenue is not who is the best contractor in San Antonio, it is tell me about this company, typed by a homeowner who already has your name and wants to know whether to trust you with eighty thousand dollars. An assistant answering that will summarize whatever it can find about you, accurate or not, and you will never see it happen. Foxxr Digital Marketing works exclusively with home service contractors and publishes share of voice reporting, The SEO Contractor publishes its prices, and Percepture publishes the most complete scope we found. Below is a criteria based breakdown of who does this work, what it costs, and the one thing you can publish that both qualifies buyers and gets you cited.

Editorial disclosure. Get Local Presence publishes this list and appears in it at number three. We are not a neutral third party and we are not pretending to be one. Every other company named here is a real, independently operating business marketing AI search, generative engine or answer engine optimization to contractors, remodelers or home service trades, and none of them paid for placement or reviewed this page before publication. We placed ourselves where our model honestly competes rather than at the top, and where a competitor publishes something we do not, we say so by name.

How we built this list, and what we deliberately ignored

Three filters produced the eight companies below.

The company had to publish a defined AI search service with deliverables, not a paragraph claiming AI expertise attached to an existing retainer.

The company had to work with contractors, remodelers or construction trades, because a referral driven business with a months long cycle has a different AI problem from an emergency trade.

The company had to actually serve San Antonio. In the companion local SEO list we excluded a firm that publishes serving Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, and said so rather than dropping it quietly. The same filter applied here.

We ignored any promise of a guaranteed position inside an AI answer, since no such position exists, and we ignored vendors whose AI offering was an existing retainer with new vocabulary.

Your risk is not invisibility, it is misdescription

This is the argument that makes AI visibility a different conversation for a general contractor, and it comes out of the keyword data we pulled for this vertical.

The highest volume search term in our entire San Antonio general contracting set, at 1,900 monthly searches, is a company name. It outranks every generic category term we measured. That is not an anomaly, it is how this trade gets hired: a homeowner asks a neighbor, a realtor or an architect, receives one or two names, and then looks those names up.

Now put that behavior in front of an assistant instead of a search box. The homeowner types tell me about this remodeling company in San Antonio, or is this contractor reputable, or has anyone had problems with them. The assistant does not return a list of links for them to evaluate. It produces a summary, assembled from your reviews, your Better Business Bureau record, forum threads, news mentions, permit and licensing records where they exist, and whatever your own site says.

Three things follow, and none of them are what a discovery focused proposal will address.

A single unresolved complaint carries more weight than it should. We covered in the companion local SEO list why review volume is structurally low in this trade: a remodeler completing fifteen projects a year cannot accumulate reviews the way a plumbing company running hundreds of jobs a month can. When an assistant summarizes a profile with twenty reviews and one detailed complaint, that complaint is five percent of the evidence and often a much larger share of the summary, because negative detail is more specific and specific text summarizes better.

Stale information gets repeated as current. An assistant reading an old listing with a former address, a business name you stopped using, or a dispute you resolved three years ago has no way to know which facts expired. Consistency work is usually sold as a ranking exercise. For a referral driven contractor it is closer to reputation defense.

You will not see any of it. A referral that dies because an assistant summarized you unfavorably produces no phone call, no form fill and no data. It is the quietest possible failure, and it is why we would rank this work higher for general contractors than for the emergency trades even though those get more attention.

The practical first step costs nothing. Open three assistants, ask each one about your own company by name, and read what comes back. If it is wrong, incomplete or unflattering, that is what your referrals are reading.

The cost question, and the one thing worth publishing

The second high value prompt in this vertical is not about you at all. It is how much does a kitchen remodel cost in San Antonio.

That question gets asked constantly, well before anyone is ready to contact a contractor, and the answer an assistant gives is assembled from whoever published usable numbers. Industry research on this is consistent and matches what we have measured elsewhere: contractors who publish specific project case studies, transparent pricing ranges, real local photography and structured data get pulled into AI summaries, while contractors relying on stock photos and quality craftsmanship copy get skipped.

That finding should be uncomfortable, because publishing prices is the single thing most general contractors refuse to do.

The objection is familiar and not unreasonable: every project is different, a number invites comparison shopping, and a range quoted out of context becomes a stick to negotiate with. All true. Here is the counterargument, and it is the same one we made in the companion list on website design.

The ranges are being disclosed either way. You disclose them on the site automatically, or you disclose them in a meeting that cost you an afternoon and a site visit. Publishing them does three jobs at once: it disqualifies the homeowner with $18,000 for a full kitchen before they consume your week, it gives a serious buyer the confidence to call, and it makes your pages the ones an assistant can actually quote when someone asks the cost question.

One act, three payoffs, and the third one is free. A vendor who tells you to publish ranges is giving you advice against the industry's habit, and that is usually a sign they are thinking about the mechanism rather than about the retainer.

What assistants actually evaluate

Home Remodeler SEO, which is on this list, publishes a clear account of what AI systems weigh for a contractor, and it is worth repeating because it is accurate and unglamorous: clear service specialization, accurate service area information, consistent business details across the web, helpful educational content, strong review language, project examples and proof of experience, crawlable and well structured content, internal links connecting related topics, and local authority through the Google Business Profile.

Notice what is not on that list. There is no clever trick, no keyword density, no volume of blog posts. It is specialization, accuracy, consistency and proof.

Two items deserve emphasis for a general contractor specifically. Clear service specialization, because contractors habitually describe themselves as doing everything, and an assistant asked who does whole home remodels in Alamo Heights cannot confidently name a company whose site says it handles all your construction needs. And strong review language, meaning reviews that describe the actual project rather than saying great job, which connects directly to the low volume problem: since you cannot win on review count, the text inside each review is what has to carry the weight.

1. Foxxr Digital Marketing

Foxxr Digital Marketing operates from 801 74th Street North in Saint Petersburg, Florida and states it works exclusively with home service contractors.

What it is genuinely good at. The most operationally specific AI offering on this list. Its scope names entity clarity and schema markup, AI ready FAQ and extractable content, and monthly AI visibility and share of voice reports, organized around a five pillar framework covering signal building, question targeting, authority stacking, article publishing and monitoring. Share of voice reporting is the item that matters most and that almost nobody offers: it means measuring not only whether you appear but how often you appear relative to named competitors, which is the only way to know whether you are gaining or the whole category is. It names seven engines including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Meta AI.

Where to look closely. Founding year, founder, team size and client count are not published and no clients are named, so ask for all of it and for two contractor references you can call. Pricing is not disclosed. Florida, so ask what changes because you build in Bexar County, and ask specifically whether they have worked with remodelers rather than only with the emergency trades, since home service contractor covers both and they behave very differently.

Best fit. A general contractor who wants measurement rather than assertion, and cares about tracking position against named competitors.

2. Funnel Boost Media

Funnel Boost Media is the only company headquartered in San Antonio maintaining separate service pages for all three AI surfaces, covering answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization and LLM optimization, founded in 2012 by Ryan Duncan and veteran owned.

What it is genuinely good at. Visible investment rather than a claim, since three distinct service pages is real commitment and the surfaces behave differently. Its own domain carries a domain authority of 34 with more than 2,600 referring domains and it ranks organically for the competitive terms it sells. Forbes named it to a list of America's best digital marketing companies. For the misdescription problem above, being local is a genuine advantage: the stale listings, old business names and neighborhood specific references that confuse an assistant are San Antonio artifacts, and a vendor here recognizes them faster.

Where to look closely. General contracting is one trade inside home services, one vertical among several. Ask how many contractor clients have an active AI component, what prompts are tracked, and whether branded prompts are included, because most vendors track category prompts only. Pricing is not published.

Best fit. A San Antonio general contractor who wants all three disciplines under one local roof.

3. Get Local Presence

We treat AI search visibility as one of three things inside a single monthly plan alongside the website and local search, rather than as a separate specialty retainer.

What we are genuinely built for. Everything above is a publishing problem. Project case studies with budget ranges, timelines and square footage. Service specialization stated plainly rather than everything for everyone. Consistency between the site, the profile and every listing. Structured data describing each project. Those are page level changes made continuously as projects finish, and they are exactly what stops happening when the AI vendor cannot edit the site and has to queue behind a developer who is no longer engaged. We operate the site, so they land. Plans run from $499 to $999 monthly, no contract, rebuild included.

Where we are honestly weaker. Foxxr publishes share of voice reporting against named competitors and we do not publish an equivalent product. Percepture publishes a more detailed deliverable list than ours. And we are not contractor exclusive the way Foxxr and The SEO Contractor are. If competitive share tracking is your first requirement, that is a real reason to choose someone else here.

What we can point to. Our parent company Rendimension measured this outcome on its own domains, moving from zero AI citations to being the most cited brand in its category as tracked by Ubersuggest AI Search Visibility, and the method here came from that work. That is a documented result in a different industry, not a San Antonio contracting case study, and should be weighed as exactly that.

Best fit. A remodeler or general contractor who wants the site, local search and AI visibility owned by one accountable party at a predictable cost.

4. The SEO Contractor

The SEO Contractor operates from Houston and works with contractors exclusively, stating that every campaign, every piece of content and every optimization is built for the trades.

What it is genuinely good at. Published pricing at $1,500 to $5,000 monthly, typically integrated into a broader SEO campaign rather than sold standalone, which is both rare and the correct architecture. Its deliverables cover AI search citation optimization across platforms, entity clarity and schema markup, AI ready content and FAQ optimization, authority building and monthly AI visibility tracking with competitive reporting. Entity clarity sitting near the top of that list is the right priority for a referral driven contractor, since it is precisely the work that makes your own name resolve cleanly and consistently when someone looks you up. Houston means Texas conditions are not new information.

Where to look closely. The 10x average lead increase claim is self reported with no named clients and no denominator, so ask how many clients it covers, over what period, and what the median was rather than the average. Contractor exclusive spans many trades, so ask how many remodeling or general contracting clients are active. Founding year and founder are not published.

Best fit. A general contractor who wants published pricing, trade exclusivity and a Texas based vendor.

5. Home Remodeler SEO

Home Remodeler SEO operates from 3801 E. Florida Avenue, Suite 400 in Denver, Colorado, serving general contractors, remodelers, home builders and specialty trades including roofing and HVAC, with generative engine optimization among a full service range.

What it is genuinely good at. The clearest published explanation of what assistants actually weigh for a contractor that we found from any vendor: service specialization, accurate service areas, consistent business details, educational content, review language, project examples, crawlable structure, internal linking and local authority. That list is honest specifically because it contains no trick, and a vendor willing to publish an unglamorous account of the work is usually describing what they do rather than selling a mystery. It also emphasizes that AI results depend on consistency across the site, reviews, listings and third party mentions, which is the misdescription problem stated correctly.

Where to look closely. Despite the name it is not remodeling exclusive, covering roofing and HVAC as well, so ask how many remodeling clients are active. Founding year, founder, team size, client count and pricing are all unpublished and no clients are named, so ask for references. Denver, so no site visits and no local knowledge of Bexar County submarkets.

Best fit. A general contractor who wants a full service vendor with a clear and honest account of the mechanism.

6. Percepture

Percepture operates from 104 W. 40th Street, Floor 5 in New York with a dedicated generative engine optimization practice.

What it is genuinely good at. The most complete published deliverable list we have found in this category, covering technical remediation, service and location architecture, expert reviewed content, local data alignment, review process guidance, digital PR and authority development, prompt retesting and dashboards, conversion work and quarterly planning. Digital PR deserves specific mention for a general contractor, because third party coverage is one of the few sources an assistant treats as independent, and a remodeler featured in a local publication or a design magazine has evidence no amount of self published content produces. It offers audit, implementation project and managed program models rather than forcing everyone into a retainer.

Where to look closely. It declines to publish pricing, and the reasoning is worth crediting rather than penalizing: it states that public pricing should not be inferred from a generic article when the required locations, services, systems and deliverables are unknown. Its named case studies, Broadstaff Global and OPTK Networks, are not construction, so ask for contractor references specifically. New York, with no Texas presence.

Best fit. A general contractor who wants the most thorough scope available and would rather start with an audit than commit to a retainer.

7. LocalMighty

LocalMighty is a San Antonio local SEO agency with more than ten years of local search experience, positioning around GEO, AEO and AI SEO alongside Google Maps visibility, and publishing a dedicated guide to local SEO for remodeling contractors.

What it is genuinely good at. Treating Maps visibility and AI visibility as one connected program, which is mechanically correct and matters here because the same consistency work feeds both. A vendor already keeping your profile, service areas, business details and reviews in agreement for the map pack is doing a large share of the misdescription defense whether or not it labels it that way. Publishing a remodeling specific guide shows the vertical is not an afterthought, and being in San Antonio means the submarket differences that shape remodeling are already understood.

Where to look closely. It advertises measurable growth within 60 days or the next month free. That is defensible for local search and very hard to underwrite honestly for AI visibility, where there is no position to move, so ask what metric the guarantee covers and whether AI work sits inside or outside it. Sixty days is also short relative to a remodeling sales cycle. Ask what is tracked, with what tool, and whether branded prompts are included.

Best fit. A San Antonio remodeler who wants a local vendor running Maps and AI visibility as one program.

8. Hook Agency

Hook Agency operates from 600 N Washington Ave, Suite C203 in Minneapolis, specializing in contractor work with a verifiable published client roster including Puetz Construction, Young Construction, Northface Construction, Veterans Contracting and Johnson Restoration, founder led.

What it is genuinely good at. Fundamentals in the trade and a checkable construction portfolio you can inspect before the first call, which is worth more than any award. Its services span website design, SEO, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Google Guaranteed and Maps SEO. The Google Guaranteed element connects to AI visibility more than it appears, because third party verification is exactly the kind of independently checkable signal that supports an assistant's confidence, and Texas does not license general contractors so independent verification is scarce in this trade.

Where to look closely. AI search is not published as a distinct service, so ask what exists today rather than assuming, and treat a candid not yet as acceptable rather than disqualifying. Its emphasis skews toward roofing and the emergency trades, where the problem is discovery volume rather than accurate description, so raise the branded prompt question directly. Minneapolis, no site visits. Pricing is not published and results claims are self reported.

Best fit. A general contractor who also does storm restoration and wants strong fundamentals from a trades specialist.

What this actually costs

Pricing here is unsettled, and only one company on this list publishes a number.

The SEO Contractor publishes $1,500 to $5,000 monthly, integrated into a broader SEO campaign rather than sold standalone, and that integration detail is worth as much as the figure: it tells you the market treats AI work as part of a search program rather than a separate product, which is also the correct way to buy it.

Everyone else prices per engagement without publishing, though Percepture at least explains its reasoning and offers an audit as a lower commitment entry point. For broader context from the companion lists in this series, a Pennsylvania contractor agency publishes local SEO at $1,000 to $3,000 monthly, and an HVAC specialist publishes AI work at $2,200 to $5,000 monthly banded by client revenue. Those brackets describe the market you are shopping in.

Managed monthly providers bundle it, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the website, local search and AI visibility in one plan and a rebuild included.

The risk to watch is double payment. Entity consistency, schema, citation cleanup and review work serve local search and AI visibility simultaneously, and for a general contractor they are close to the same deliverable. If your current vendor already does them, a separate AI retainer may be billing twice for one job. Ask both for written deliverable lists and compare them line by line.

How to test an AI visibility proposal in five minutes

These apply to every company on this page, us included.

Ask whether branded prompts are tracked. This is the general contractor question. Most vendors track category prompts like best remodeler in San Antonio. For a referral driven business the prompt that decides revenue is your own company name, and if it is not on the tracked list they are solving a problem you have less of.

Ask them to run your company name through three assistants on the call. It takes two minutes, it costs nothing, and whatever comes back is what your referrals are reading. A vendor who has already done this before the meeting is thinking about your business.

Ask whether they will tell you to publish budget ranges. A vendor who says yes is giving advice against the industry habit for a reason: published ranges disqualify the wrong buyers, reassure the right ones, and make your pages quotable when someone asks the cost question. A vendor who avoids the topic is optimizing for an easy conversation.

Ask what happens when the summary is wrong. Stale addresses, former business names, resolved disputes reported as current. Ask what the process is for correcting the underlying sources, since the assistant cannot be edited directly.

Ask what they measure, with what tool, against what baseline. There should be a named tool, a fixed prompt set including branded prompts, and a baseline captured before work begins. Foxxr publishes share of voice reporting against named competitors, which is the strongest version of this available. Ask everyone else what they offer.

Ask what they will not promise. A vendor who declines to say position or guarantee is describing this discipline accurately.

Frequently asked questions

Why is AI search a different problem for a general contractor?+

Because your risk is misdescription rather than invisibility. The highest volume search term in our San Antonio general contracting keyword set is a company name at 1,900 monthly searches, outranking every generic term, which reflects how the trade gets hired: a homeowner receives a referral and looks the name up. Put that behavior in front of an assistant and the prompt becomes tell me about this company, which returns a summary assembled from your reviews, BBB record, forum threads and old listings rather than a list of links to evaluate. A referral that dies because the summary was unflattering produces no call, no form fill and no data, which makes it the quietest possible failure.

What should I publish to get cited by AI when someone asks about remodeling costs?+

Real budget ranges, and this is the recommendation most contractors resist. Industry research is consistent that contractors publishing specific project case studies, transparent pricing ranges, real local photography and structured data get pulled into AI summaries, while those relying on stock photos and quality craftsmanship copy get skipped. The objection that every project is different is fair, and the counterargument is that the ranges get disclosed either way, on the site automatically or in a meeting that cost you an afternoon. Publishing them disqualifies the wrong buyer, reassures the right one, and makes your pages quotable when someone asks the cost question. One act, three payoffs.

How do I find out what AI says about my company right now?+

Open three assistants and ask each one about your company by name. It takes two minutes and costs nothing. Read what comes back for accuracy, completeness and tone, and check specifically for stale facts: a former address, a business name you stopped using, a dispute you resolved years ago, or a service area that no longer matches. Whatever appears is what your referrals are reading at the moment they decide whether to call. Any vendor worth hiring will have run this before your first meeting, and if they have not, ask them to do it on the call.

What do AI assistants actually evaluate for a contractor?+

Nothing clever. Home Remodeler SEO publishes an accurate list: clear service specialization, accurate service area information, consistent business details across the web, helpful educational content, strong review language, project examples and proof of experience, crawlable well structured content, internal links connecting related topics, and local authority through the Google Business Profile. Two matter most for a general contractor. Specialization, because contractors habitually say they do everything and an assistant cannot confidently name a company whose site claims to handle all your construction needs. And review language, because your review count is structurally low at fifteen to twenty projects a year, so the text inside each review has to carry the weight the volume cannot.

How much does AI search visibility cost for a general contractor?+

Only one company on our list publishes a number: The SEO Contractor at $1,500 to $5,000 monthly, integrated into a broader SEO campaign rather than standalone. For market context from the companion lists in this series, a Pennsylvania contractor agency publishes local SEO at $1,000 to $3,000 monthly and an HVAC specialist publishes AI work at $2,200 to $5,000 banded by client revenue. Everyone else prices per engagement, though Percepture offers an audit as a lower commitment entry. Managed monthly providers bundle it, which is the bracket Get Local Presence occupies at $499 to $999 monthly with the website, local search and AI visibility together and a rebuild included.

Can a vendor fix a wrong AI summary about my business?+

Not directly, and any vendor claiming otherwise is overselling. Assistants cannot be edited. What can be changed are the sources they read: your own site, the Google Business Profile, directory listings, the BBB record, and third party mentions. Correcting a bad summary means correcting or outweighing those sources and then waiting for the models to pick up the change, which is not instant and is not guaranteed on any timeline. Ask any vendor what their process is for source correction specifically, and treat a promise to fix what ChatGPT says about you as a claim nobody can keep.

Should AI visibility be bought separately from local SEO for a contractor?+

Usually not, because for a general contractor the overlap is close to total. Entity consistency, schema, citation cleanup, service area accuracy and review quality are simultaneously the local SEO deliverable and the AI summary defense. Buying them separately often means paying twice for one job, and the vendor publishing pricing on this list sells the AI work integrated into a broader campaign rather than standalone for exactly that reason. The work also requires frequent page level changes as projects finish, so whoever does it needs either direct access to the website or a fast documented path to someone who has it. Ask how many business days a page change takes, as a number.

Your website may be losing calls you never knew existed.

We will review the message, structure, search visibility and lead path, then show you the three fixes most likely to matter.
